Long, for his part, was actually delighted by all the newcomers. So many interesting people to watch, to observe. He was seated on a bench in the circus, with a large pretzel before him in one hand and the tablet in the other.
"Hello, Taxon," he said with a smile as he addressed the tablet. "To people both new and old. Welcome to our many new arrivals.
"It seems as good a chance as any to ask some questions of interest to myself, especially since there are so many people here right now of whom to ask them...
"In the first place: what do you personally consider to be Truth, in the philosophical sense?
"In the second: is there anything I ought to try here besides this pretzel? I have never been to a carnival before. It is a delightful, albeit tacky, Babylon."
