Whew!

We just got home from a Halloween party at Nick's friend Michael's house. Wow, they put on a show! About 40 kids, 30 adults, tons of food, and they transformed their entire dining/living room into a haunted house. It was amazing, and the kids had an absolute blast. Lots of "kid" food, including mac & cheese, hot dogs and chips, and an adult table as well (artichoke dip, fresh guacamole, wine :). The kids were all around the same age, 11-13, from Nick's school and they were the perfect age for a haunted house...too old to be truly scared, but not too old to be jaded!

I got domestic and made deviled eggs, fresh gorgonzola dip with veggies and artichoke dip on bruschetta for the party. Now I have leftover gorgonzola dressing...yum. I think I'll steam a huge bunch of broccoli tomorrow, it's divine with the dressing.

My ears are still ringing with the sound of 20 screaming pre-teen girls but it's a good thing I can't hear much. Nick brought home two friends for an overnight, and I think the sugar rush is still in progress. They have announced they aren't sleeping tonight at all. Hey, I'm ok with that, as long as *I* get to sleep. They also requested waffles and eggs for breakfast. Ha. I was a bad mom and told them they could have cereal and cinnamon rolls and had better let me sleep in. I'll make brunch later to make it up to them.

Happy Halloween!
