New character!
Hi, this is Christine again! So, I know I just joined as Connor this past weekend, but I get very excited about things, and this game in particular has already got its claws deep in me. So, here is my second (and probably last, at least for a very, very long time) character, Anita Blake of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series. For those who know the series, she comes from between Bloody Bones (book five) and The Killing Dance (book six). For those not in the know, here is what that means:
Anita is a state-licensed vampire executioner, as in her world, vampires are legal citizens with rights just like any human being, effective as of about two years ago. Whenever a warrant is issued for an execution, she's the one the cops call in to do the messy work. Her primary job is working as an animator for Animators, Inc. in St. Louise, raising three or four zombies a night for various purposes -- usually for a family member to say a last goodbye, to sort out a contested will, that sort of thing. Having a degree in preternatural biology, she is also on retainer with the local police force as their resident monster expert, though she is technically still a civilian, which frustrates her to no end and makes her life very difficult at crime scenes. She does not feel that all vampires are inherently evil, especially since she knows at least one who was an acquaintance of hers before he was turned. She does, however, think they are all dangerous and that there are definite lines that should not be crossed. Since Taxon is full of vampires, she's going to be pretty wary -- especially as they're not all exactly like the ones from home. Sorry if she's a little brusque with you, guys. She has been loosening up a bit, though -- she's dating a vampire and a werewolf at the same time, so she is clearly willing to give leeway to those who prove themselves moderately trustworthy.
