025: Waiting All These Years to Dance Again [Location: the Northern Island]

Nov 11, 2011 21:25

Even by the strange standards of Taxon, the last month had been a busy one. The prisoners had been moved from one twisted game to the next with little time to catch their breath. They hadn't been particularly dangerous glitches - no zombies, no wicked witches, no damage to the life support systems - but they had been inconvenient. And it felt as if it had been weeks since she and Glitch had spent some proper time together.

With that in mind, DG left the workshop early, hanging up her grease stained overalls in favour of a pretty black dress and, after careful contemplation, hatching the sort of meal that she would never have managed to cook herself. (There was a reason that she'd been a waitress rather than a chef at the Hilltop Cafe. She spent too long with her head in the clouds to be trusted with the grill.)

When Glitch eventually dragged himself away from his work and returned to the Northern Island, he would find a note - "You still owe me a dance." - pinned on the front door. Music drifted through the gleaming corridors from the ballroom were DG waited with high spirts and more than a little anticipation, bathed in golden candlelight.

They deserved a night like this and she intended to make sure that they enjoyed every moment.
