04 | Location: Dodgy Jammer | You only hear the music when your heart begins to break

Kobra still didn't know why he was doing this, but it was the kind of spur of the moment thing that just felt right. He hadn't heard any music since he'd arrived in Taxon and he felt like he couldn't breathe properly without it. Sure, their life in the desert wasn't easy, but he fucking missed it, huddling together in Party's car with the others, waiting for Dr. Death Defying to go on the waves and feed them tunes.

DG had told him about the Dodgy Jammer and that you could even request music here, which frankly, excited Kobra more than it should. But when it came down to it, despite the tough exterior and the attitude, he was a 20 year old who'd grown up deprived of the things that were normal for most people. Music and books? Luxury for Kobra.

He wasn't too good with handling social situations, but he'd asked DG to come along anyway because...well, he wasn't too sure. But it seemed like a good plan to go with someone who knew their way around. Taxon and its people were still riddles to Kobra.

Finding the Dodgy Jammer hadn't been too hard, but Kobra waited at the street corner for DG instead of in front of the bar. He was filled with the kind of anticipation that had you stalling, even though you really wanted something.

Trusting her to recognise him, Kobra leaned against the wall of the building behind him, sunglasses perched on his nose as always, and idly rubbing at a stain on the hem of his jacket. Looked like motor oil. Fuck, he missed his bike.
Most people here spotted different clothes all the time, which in itself was another concept strange to Kobra. Out in the desert they only had what was on their backs and every now and then if you got lucky you'd find a new shirt or even a new pair of jeans at one of the trades. Maybe he should have a look around the stores with Party tomorrow. He could do with a new pair of jeans. Thinking of it, his shirt could do with a wash as well. The yellow was starting to fade. He could do that later at the beach. Duct tape for his boots was in order as well - one of the soles was starting to peel off again. At least it was very easy to get supplies here.

With a sigh Kobra gave up trying to rub the stain away and leaned his head back, watching the extras moving through the streets as he waited.

(day), kobra kid, dg
