"I'm fine," she lies, forcing a smile. "Allergies," she shrugs, hoping the excuse will be good enough, but seriously doubting it. "I made blueberry muffins," she adds, indicating to a basket of them as an effort to change the conversation.
Come on Fabray, she tells herself. You're better then this. Don't let them see you cry, remember?

Instead he gives her a polite smile and walks toward the basket. "Thank you. My mother would have told me that this would spoil my upcoming meal, but a little snack can't hurt right?" His smile turns somewhat conspiratorial and he withdraws a single muffin, placing it on a napkin. He splits the muffin in half and returns to Quinn, offering her the half with the napkin.

"Hypothetically," Quinn says. "Say right up until the second someone woke up in the Sanctuary they were pregnant. Only when they wake up they're not..." Quinn pauses, now that she's started talking she has no idea where to go with it - or even why she started in the first place. It's more than enough that Stefan, Martha and a few others know. "...what would you do?"

"Hypothetically I would make certain that I was physically healthy first. An abrupt change like that could seriously effect the body. That is more immediate and something I could have control over." His expression shifts into the smallest hint of concern. "Then I would see if there was a means to find out what happened back home. Both lives are equally valuable and it wouldn't be right not to receive my own medical attention if it were necessary."

She had talked to a doctor but she haven't gotten checked out. Martha had suggested that maybe the aliens had allowed her to give birth, but then messed with her memories. But it was more than that, Quinn could feel it.
Kurt had told her Beth was healthy and had been adopted, but Quinn was still uncertain. Their time lines were different, didn't that mean things could change.
"How would you find out? Tests?"

Lex sets down his own muffin and crosses the room to the couch, sitting beside Quinn with enough room to remain perfectly professional. "Quinn. If there's something you need for yourself or for a friend you don't have to be shy in asking. I can't help if I don't know."

"I was pregnant. Right up until I got here. One second I could feel this life inside me, but then it was just gone. My stomach was flat like it never even happened."
She wipes her eyes, not wanting to add how it felt like a part of her had gone wherever Beth was, like a part of her had actually died.

She manages a faint smile as Les brings over the tissues, and takes one, dabbing her eyes with it.
"A part of me can't help but wonder if they took her. Maybe they're holding her somewhere."

"I'm not trying to dismiss you," he adds, knowing that sometimes his headstrong ways can cause for words to sound more harsh than he intends. "But I do believe that wherever your child is, she is safe."
