The tablet switches on to reveal Amy waving her hands in the air and shaking her booty as a generic pop song plays in the background. Once she discovered that Taxon was now broadcasting radio stations she was all geared up to have the stereo on in the background all the time ( Read more... )

Oh! Hello there. And yeah, we do now. If you happen to find a radio or stereo lurking around your place, flick it on. Of course, it's only songs from soundtracks, so it's pretty limiting.

Amy, nice to meet you. Or... hear you. [She chuckles.] You're new, aren't you? I don't remember anyone named Liz.

[For Amy, kidnapped by aliens is pretty damn common.] How are you coping? People been helpful, or generally confusing?

I guess so. I'm kind of used to weird myself. But the tablets and bracelets and hatches, yeah, those are odd. Have you had the glitches explained to you yet?

Ehm, how to explain... All right, it's like this. Sometimes strange things happen here that affect us and we've got no control over it. It passes over some people though, so you'll be walking around one day and then all of a sudden, it looks like the 1950's and your friends think they're married and live in a house with a white picket fence with their 2.5 kids.

[She knows what that's like from experience, Liz.]

These aliens mess with our heads. Make us think we're someone else, make us forget people... [She trails off, but recovers quickly.] It's complete bollocks, but what can you do? It's a part of life here.

I guess. Might have something to do with these bracelets, but I can't say for sure how they do it all.

[Amy couldn't help but smirk, so it was a good thing Liz couldn't see her.]

That's the right attitude to have in this place. If you start thinking everything can't be that bad, you'll just end up being disappointed in the long run.

Not much different than America, I'd reckon. Besides, I moved to England when I was little, and the village I come from is bor-ring.
