The visual feed clicks on, showing Rose sitting down in a field. The weather was bright and sunny, something that Rose had missed. It was the field that adjoined the house she grew up in, over five hundred years ago. Rose couldn't believe that something so significant from her early life found itself into Taxon; it was the place where she went to ( Read more... )

Amy loved exploring new places, and this appeared to be a whole new location!

"Sure, I'll drop by! You're new here, aren't you?"

"That's brilliant." Rose gave the girl a bright smile before nodding. "I am new, just arrived almost two weeks ago. I'm Rose."

"Oh, so you got the lovely undead welcoming committee, huh?" The tablet is jostled a bit as Amy heads out the front door. "I'm Amy, and it looks like we're not that far apart." Both of their current locations on the map were in Shelley, so Amy just decided to walk over.

"Thankfully, I wasn't out much in the city around the time of the zombies. But the residents here told me about it." She's glad that she didn't come across any of them, even though she would be able to defend herself. "Hello, Amy, and that is incredibly convenient, isn't it?" Rose laughed lightly.

"I stayed holed up in the house, myself. Got lucky, since they didn't try to break in."

Noting the streets on the map, she crossed over here and there, only a few blocks away from Rose now.

"Very much so. Though the tram gets you where you want to go pretty easily too. Nearly to you now."

"Probably the wisest idea, really. I would have done the same thing."

Rose was looking forward to meeting Amy in person, feeling very pleased at the moment.

"I didn't even know about the tram," she admitted. "Still getting used to this place I suppose."

"There's this one bloke who's trying to get together a sort of guide for the new arrivals to read so they can learn about this place easier. Not sure how that's coming along since we keep getting interrupted with these glitches though."

Coming to the last street, Amy looked out over the beautiful field on the edge of town. A quick look at the map turned her in the right direction and soon she spotted Rose in person.

"Ah, here you are. Hello!" She waved, arm extended up all the way and voice carrying.

She didn't even know the full extent of the glitches either, but Rose assumed that the zombies were perhaps a part of it. Still, she remained focused on the positive aspects of Taxon. "Well, I wish him the very best of luck in his endeavour. Whoever he is."

Rose saw Amy before she was even near the field: being a vampire had its perks sometimes. Standing up, she began to make her way closer to the other girl.

"Hello, Amy," she replied, giving her a little wave back.

"Some Captain I think. Don't know him very well."

Switching off her tablet, Amy jogged over the rest of the distance. "Hello! This is what you came with?" She gestured around to the field. "Impressive."

"I think I talked to him when I arrive-James is his name."

Rose did the same, switching off the device she held in her hand. "It's a place from back home. One of my favourite places actually." She smiled a little. "Thank you, Amy."

"And where's home for you?" Most of Taxon's residents were from Earth, but not necessarily the same Earth. "Me, I'm from Scotland originally, but I grew up in a boring English village." Her eyes rolls at the word boring. Those with adventurous spirits were not made to dwell in Leadworth.

"England, originally. I'm from the year 2011." Total lie by the way, Amy. But Rose doesn't want to tell you that she's a five hundred year old vampire. An amused smile quirked at her lips when Amy said boring. "Ah, so you're not one for the quite life then?"

"Get out! It was 2010 for me! Well, I mean, that's when I left. I, uh... silly question," she began, touching her hair casually, "But has anyone mentioned time travel to you yet?" Because while she had left the night of her wedding in 2010, she had been abducted from the TARDIS while floating through the vortex and technically hadn't been taken from any specific place or time.

Rose was beginning to like Amy already. "No one has mentioned time travel to me, no. But I assumed that it was possible given that we're in a city constructed by aliens." She then sat down, patting the spot beside her before looking over at Amy again.

"Are you a time traveller then, Amy?"

Amy sat down beside her, stretching out her long legs and putting her weight back on her hands.

"Sure am! I have this friend who's an alien -- not one of these kidnapping ones -- but another type, and he has this spaceship-time machine. I've been to all sorts of planets and times." Her eyes naturally drifted up to look at the fake Taxon sky. Beyond that, she'd heard, was a cave ceiling, and beyond that, the surface of some alien planet. But beyond that, was space, her playground.

Rose followed suit and stretched out her legs like Amy did, shifting slightly so she could speak to her properly.

"That's incredible. You must have seen all kinds of things." She herself had seen many, many things but that's what happened when you've lived for so long. Rose briefly looked up, enjoying the warmth of the sun, even if it was fake.
