The tablet turns on abruptly, as Faith tosses her bag down with a thump on the pavement. The odd angle means she's only visible up to about the chest, but anyone who's met her won't be able to mistake that leather on leather taste in clothing, or the smoker's rasp to her voice as she laughs ( Read more... )

While Angela may not be all that experienced with killing demons, she didn't become a homicide detective because of her skills at filing paperwork. In fact, before her sister's suicide, she'd actually been suspended for being a little too eager to use her gun on the bad guys - never mind that her instincts had been right every single time.

So she's out, gun in hand, firing the same way she way taught back at the police academy, the same way that got her in trouble before everything with Isabel and Mammon and John went down. One shot, one kill, right through the forehead - she's already learned that shooting them anywhere else will do little besides slow them down at this point.

It still kind of scares her, how good she is at this. But at least in this case, she's not ending another life. They're already dead.

Faith's good with guns, but she's not in this to get out of close combat. Still, she can't help but be impressed with the-- human? Not a vamp, at least, but like that means shit in a place like Taxon-- chick taking headshot after headshot.

Her boots make a light thumping sound as she jumps off a fire escape and onto the ground, far enough away if whoever this is spooks and fires at her she can duck and roll. "Not bad shooting, Tex."

Angela does whirl around to see who's joining her, but doesn't take aim - her gun is up, but her instinct isn't telling her to fire, so it's just in case any of the undead decide to join their party. When she sees the silver band encircling Faith's wrist, she lowers it, nodding to her.

"LA, actually, but thanks," she says, looking over her shoulder to see if there's any Extras about to join them.

Faith raises her hands and then lowers them as Angela lowers the gun, smirking crookedly and nodding back; she's completely casual despite the circumstances, like this is nothing new.

"Whatever." Angela may just have sealed her nickname fate by disputing the point. "And no problem, I just call 'em like I see 'em."

She'd much prefer 'LA' or 'Tex' to any of the names that floated around the precinct, despite any protests she may have about having a nickname at all. (Thirty-five is a little old to be gaining new ones, isn't it?)

Angela doesn't smile back. However used to violence (supernatural or otherwise) she is at this point, it's never a pleasant situation, and her lips are pressed into a grim line as she remains on guard, keeping her eyes and ears tuned in case she needs to shoot again anytime soon. Speaking of...

"Do you have a gun?" she asks, after noticing that the young woman doesn't seem to be carrying a weapon.

Faith doesn't really do first names. Sometimes people get last names or abbreviations, but it's just a thing of hers. Buckle up and enjoy it, Angela-called-Tex.

She laughs at that, genuinely amused, and shakes her head. "What, and ruin the fun? Hell no, Tex. Guns for show, knives for a pro."

It figures that's Faith's pop culture touchstone.

Angela can't help but raise an eyebrow at the sudden nickname (and at the quote), but she doesn't show any signs of protest - mostly because of the zombified Extra coming up behind her. She takes aim and fires, barely even needing to look at the thing, and it goes down in an instant, brains and gore exploding behind him.

She draws in a deep breath after that, reaching behind her back to make sure she's still got the spare clips of bullets she managed to hatch before the hatches were shut off.

"Maybe, but they get the job done quicker," she quips, retrieving one of the clips and reloading her gun with it.

Faith's opinion of Angela goes up a notch or two as her shot takes the Extra down, because maybe she's not digging this like anybody with the right mindset would, but she's not fucking it up, either. That's not nothing.

"Not really feeling like quickies right now. I'm going full tantra." Which... is how Faith actually views violence, so that's even more disturbing than it appears it first blush.

Angela's not sure what to make of Faith, but there's something interesting about her aside from her obvious love of the violence surrounding them that she can't put her finger on. She wonders briefly whether or not she's a member of the force, or maybe some branch of the military, but her style and body language is all wrong for either. Aside from that, she looks pretty young.

"To each their own," she replies with a shrug after she's done (subtly) surveying her up and down. "I've never liked dragging it out."

"Babe, that's the best part." Faith's grin is genuinely good natured for once; the violence calms her down, paradoxically. "Faith, by the way."

Angela nods slowly, still a little thrown off by Faith's utter glee at violence and destruction, but she shifts her gun to one hand and offers her opposite for Faith to shake. "Angela."
