Had Brennan taken the time to check her tablet today, she might have seen the other transmissions about the worrying breakout among the Extras and sussed out that something was very wrong. But she hadn't and so she doesn't know what is going on, more concerned with work - as always.
On one of the metallic autopsy tables in the middle of the Medico-Legal lab of the Jeffersonian lies the body of a recently dead male Extra. While Brennan normally detests dealing with flesh (she worked with bones only), she'd long since decided to try to conduct a little research into the physiology of these strange blanks filling Taxon. She isn't a pathologist nor a medical doctor and couldn't manage an extensive examination, but she is determined to do what she can.
Busily jotting down notes a good distance away by a workstation, Brennan fails to notice the limbs of the body twitching suddenly. In fact, it isn't until the Extra groans unintelligibly and sluggishly sits up on the autopsy table that she snaps her head up and stares, blue eyes widening and mouth dropping open in astonishment.
"What the..." she trails off, too stunned to even finish the sentence. That Extra was dead as a stone ten minutes ago, she had ascertained that.
The Extra seems disoriented, making strange, not quite human-like noises, wobbling ungainly until he literally topples off the table and crashes to the floor. Brennan simply blinks, rooted to the spot by stupefaction.
"Dead people are not supposed to do that," she finally utters slowly in confused tone, shaking her head. For once in her life, she's completely lost for words and uncertain as to how to proceed.
