With all that'd been happening lately, Nathan had finally wound up deciding to take a break. All the theories on how to get out of Taxon, all the ideas about how he'd fix things in Washington if when he got back, for the time being he was willing to let it go. There were parts of Taxon he had yet to explore, and he'd been giving that a shot.
Originally it'd started out as a good old fashioned walk, an attempt at normality for a change. Since while Nathan accepted he wasn't normal, was in fact anything but he still had the impulse to pretend. A walk, out and about, just to get some air. Which had lasted all of fifteen minutes.
Then he'd given that up for checking out a rooftop of a building that'd interested him. And had been flying over half of Taxon ever since. It wasn't exactly like him to be this open, but since it was common knowledge that a number of people in Taxon were humans with a few extra additions, he didn't really feel the need to hide. It was new. Interesting.
But he was refusing to let himself get attached to it. Nathan didn't like this place, whatever its purpose, and the first chance he got to leave with Claire and both Peters -- even if the other one wasn't particularly fond of him, nothing he wasn't used to-- he would. He had responsibilities to attend to, mistakes that badly needed to be fixed.
Still, he couldn't help noticing one or two perks to the situation. A better relationship with Claire. At least one brother who, as far as he was aware, didn't know what he'd done to him. The chance to not have to hide anything about himself for a change. No Company. No government. No politics. No divorce. He wasn't alone. Just something he couldn't help but consider.
He didn't like this place. But it was better than other forms of captivity, he had to admit. As Nathan touched down on a rooftop to sit for a minute, he looked out over the city, quirking an eyebrow at how different all the buildings looked. Catering to every possible taste, as far as he could tell. Almost disturbing.
After a small pause, he sat down on the edge of the roof, letting his legs dangle over. Nathan took the tablet out of his pocket, setting it off to the side in case someone tried to contact him. He looked out over the view. "This is... Something else." He muttered. Like a forced vacation.
He really, really had to stop finding the positive points in all this.
