008: [Location: Central, near the Sanctuary] I care not who knows that I am wretched

May 06, 2010 16:32

The Lady Morgana is sitting on a bench near the Sanctuary.  If the building did not have such terrible memories for her, she might have chosen to sit in the building itself, but as her arrival and the Doctor's trial are two things she would rather forget, Morgana remains outside.  She did not pick the bench closest to the Sanctuary, for a very simple reason, the one she in which she currently waits is slightly off the beaten path, and nicely shaded.  (The bench might also be conveniently out of the eye-line of anyone's projects, but Morgana would never admit to taking that into consideration.)  She is wearing a simpler gown than usual, and her hair is completely hidden, for once.  While, technically, it is a white veil, it might look more like a wimple to those unschooled in medieval fashion.

Morgana is waiting.  She may have brought a bit of refreshment, and a book, to look like someone simply occupying her time, but whether she eats, or reads, or simply watches the people and Extras (she separates the residents into two distinct groups), waiting is her actual purpose.  She was waiting yesterday, and today, and will be back here tomorrow, depending on the speed of events.  While it might sound like an oxymoron, she is desperately waiting.

Her mood is dark enough that she does not feel like eating and trying to read the book is difficult.  The content may be on some basic scientific principles, which, while interesting in the way only someone keen to learn would find, it is the provider of the book that is making the study of it difficult.

Enfys has vanished.  Awaking this morning, with a start, Morgana knew -- she checked her tablet, and map, and even tried sending a private message, in the vain hopes she was wrong, but she knew Enfys, and her odd companionship was gone.  While that would have been enough to upset Morgana, it is not only Enfys who has disappeared.  The Countess, or the Baroness, or witch, or simply Petrana, has also disappeared.  A simple check of the map, and the Countess's castle being missing was enough to confirm it.

She has yet to tell anyone of the disappearances, and even left the Royal Chambers without a word to Arthur.  Almost selfishly, Morgana sees both Enfys and Petrana as hers, and would be incapable of explaining to anyone that what she is feeling is grief.

Thus, Morgana who is wavering between feeling abandoned and devastated, is now sitting desperately waiting, and pretending to read.

[OOC:  This post has a several day, fluid time line.  Waiting is a slow process -- even for someone desperately waiting.]
