3. The Girl Who Was Death - [Text]/[Location | café]

Apr 18, 2010 12:56

It is a great personal triumph for Sam Spade to figure out how to set his tablet to things other than "holo." Granted, he may or may not be able to switch the mode again with any certainty, but still, it's a step in the right direction. He's had quite a few things to think about in the past month, and now that he's getting paid to maintain his office in the "credits" their captors generously doled out, he feels he should at least maintain some semblance of working. He had also promised Rose he'd keep his eyes open, which was almost like having a case.

And so, while he sits at the café near his office, having a cigarette and a coffee, he transmits the following message in text form.

WANTED: SECRETARY TO PRIVATE DETECTIVE

Would be responsible for filing, screening calls and walk ins, and general assistance in mostly office capacities. Full time, paid. Contact Sam Spade for more details.

He sat back with his coffee and waited, interested to see what response, if any, his ad would draw. And hell, he figured if Effie eventually showed up, he could just fire the other dame. Meanwhile, he needed someone who could figure out Effie's filing system, and ideally someone with a better handle on the tablets than he had. And if the hamsters wanted him to play detective, well... he may just oblige them.

[ooc: Mostly for Ruby, but feel free to bother him here or continue bothering at his previous post. He's around.]
