Stunned, he freezes, looking somewhat comical with both of his hands raised -- and then he turns around,

Well, as far as initial Taxon observations go that was an interesting one. Glitch tilted his head in consideration.

"As far as we can tell height has nothing to do with it. Everyone just gets plucked all willy nilly."

Okay. Shane thinks he's starting to get the hang of this. He squints a little at the person on the screen.

"Worth a shot, right...?" Shane scratches his head, looking around the hallway. "So who's the one doing the picking?"

"Hey, I won't discourage any theories," Glitch assured him with a smile, finally focused on the tablet. "And, ah, we don't know. It-it's kinda annoying. I'm Glitch, by the way, welcome to Taxon."

Somebody had to be a friendly face for the newbies, right?

"That's your name?" Shane grins a little, but not in any mocking sort of way. He thinks it's kind of cool. "I'm Shane. And, uh... thanks."

"Not my proper name," Glitch assured him. "I don't remember that, but but it serves its purpose." He grinned, la la la, no big deal. "Nice to meet you, Shane. Um. Do you know if you know anyone here yet?"

Again, Shane brings a hand up to the back of his head, an obvious nervous tic. "Uhh, yeah, one person. Hey, do you know Levi?"

Ah, nervous tics, Glitch was...well versed in them. The firm nod he did now, for instance, as much to reassure himself that he knew something as to appear confident to whoever he was talking to.

"Well, I know a Levi. Dunno if he's yours or not but but I do know one. He's got interesting taste in clothing."
