The interesting thing about Slayers (one of many), is that when they don't do what they were built for (which is to say, slay) for a great length of time, they start to get itchy. Not literally itchy, in a 'there are creams you can get for that' way, but more an overall sense of restlessness. An excess of energy. A weird need to go out walking at night with a stake that won't get used and a leather jacket that doesn't do anything for the cold. Buffy's been trapped in Taxon for what feels like an eternity (and is in fact only eight months), and she is beyond itchy.
Which is why she's currently roaming the streets alone, without any purpose, trying to reconcile herself with the abundance of (impossible to ignore) festive decoration around the place, and the idea that she'll be spending Christmas here.
