Aeryn had been doing her fair share of exploring around Taxon the past few days. The whole shock and awe of the place had worn off, though she still wasn't completely clear on how or why she got there. The last thing she remembered was dying, so being brought back to life on a foreign planet with no sign of her shipmates was a hell of a surprise.

"Mitchell..." she repeated the name slowly to commit it to memory. It was odd, seeing Crichton stand before her but have it not actually being Crichton, but she vaguely remembered Chiana mentioning something about the way that the city worked. Strange ways, like that, making copies of the same person and spitting them back out with different personalities and everything.
Reigning in her wandering thoughts, Aeryn clamped down on her wavering emotions and regarded him much like a soldier would a swaying ally. She had no real proof of which way he would swing, but was curious nonetheless. She nodded in approval of his guess. "How many more of you are there running around here? I don't have the patience to begin dealing with six or seven Crichtons or Mitchells or... whoever." Not her most welcoming or eloquent, but she wasn't known much for her words. There was a pause of silence before she finally spoke again. "You finding this city as stifling as I do?"

Judging by the surroundings, her stance, and the wrap on her hands, he had a decent guess of what her answer to the 'restlessness' was. He couldn't argue with that solution--although, granted, most of the time he'd sparred, it'd been with very large men he couldn't hope to physically injure.
He crossed his arms, and glanced up at the gray sky a moment, before nodding. "Yeah...the place could do with some more variety."

Aeryn planted her hands on her hips and took a few steps back onto the dirt "mat" that had been created. She stretched out her hands to test the fighter's tape and crack her knuckles. "Variety isn't really the word I would use." She stood there a few moments in silence before shrugging her shoulders and quirking a brow. "Well?" she offered.

He shrugged. "Nah? I figure its a good general word."
Ah, well. This wouldn't be the first time he'd sparred with a woman, and he'd learned a long time ago that a woman could kick his ass just as readily as a man could. Which he'd prefer not to experience just now.
He shrugged. "Ah, what the hell. Why not?"

When he finally gave his answer, Aeryn felt a genuine smile creep at the corner of her lips. She had no intention of kicking his ass without a good fight, and she was hoping he could at least provide her that much. "A question better left unanswered," she replied with a smile.
She took a few steps back and spread her feet apart to steady her balance. She kept her muscles tightened and ready for anything. "Whenever you're ready, Mitchell."

At the very least, he had fun doing it, most of the time. Although, the possibility of getting a beat-down by a woman who looked remarkably like Vala would be...an experience.
He shrugged out of his jacket, and nodded to the woman, approaching the dirt mat. "There any guidelines I should be made aware of?"

Perhaps Mitchell had been the perfect opponent to show up. She could take out all of her furstrations and anger with Crichton on a man that looked just like him. Fortunate for her, not quite so fortunate for Mitchell. "Don't trip," she told him with a wry grin.
Aeryn came in quickly and brought her arm in a wide arch to aim a fist at his side. She wasn't trying to hurt him, but a little physical conditioning never hurt anyone... much.

He might've paused before approaching, if that were the case. It was yet to be determined whether he should have.
Fortunate enough for him, the fist was a simple enough opening move to anticipate and dodge. It was determining a counter attack before she could come up with another that was the difficulty.
Alright, so he still had some issues sparring with a woman. There were some things his Grandma said that were hard to dismiss, even when he knew better.

But she wasn't going to let her guard down either.
She smiled when he easily dodged her first punch. It had been a simple enough introduction, but she was really just trying to see how he moved. She used her momentum to circle around to hi other side, watching him the whole way.
"So you're not Crichton," she began conversationally to try and throw him off. "Then where are you from? I assume you are a human like him, too?" Her feet shuffled against the dirt to try and gain a better footing.

This woman was definitely no Vala. Granted, Vala could handle herself well enough, but she didn't walk the way Aeryn did.
He offered the woman a wry grin, not about to drop his guard just yet. He did intend to put up a fight if he were going to be limping back to the mountain. "You really want to know? Or you just hoping to get my head in the story and not here? Think we covered the basics last time."
