Godric recognized Cassie's voice on the tablet, but what brought him up short was what she actually said, and the way she said it. Cassie had told him about what had happened with her mother, so the request was disturbing at best. He brought out his tablet and turned on his visual function.

"Cassie? What's wrong?"

Cassie heard a voice and what frightened her more than anything, aside from her whole being in a place that wasn't her hometown thing, was that this person knew her name. She turned in a quick circle, wondering where the voice originated from.

"Hello? I-I don't know where I am or how I got here." It probably wasn't a good idea to talk to this person...wherever they were.

Something froze inside Godric, and it took a few moments for him to respond. When he did, his voice was perceptively tighter than it had been before.

"Look at your tablet. The thing in your hand."

Cassie sniffled, lifting one hand to her cheek to wipe away the tears that had spilled free of her eyelids. The other lifted the strange cell phone thing and sure enough, on the screen was a young man, probably around her age.

"Can you tell me where I am? Or...or how I got here?" Or how you know my name? The last question was silent, but Cassie needed to prioritize. Where she is. How she got here. How she can get home.

"You're in Taxon. None of knows how we came to be here, or why." He seemed distant and a little sad, though Cassie wouldn't understand why. "Are you alright otherwise?"

"Taxon," Cassie repeated. She'd never heard of that place. Ever. She looked down at herself, checking for any cuts, bruises, or other such injuries.

"I think so. I'm just...cold," Cassie said, trying to cover up her bare legs, shield them from the chill in the air. "My mom's gonna be so upset," Cassie muttered, half to herself, when she realized that if she couldn't leave this place, and couldn't contact her parents, they would freak out and call the cops, fire department, and anyone else that 911 covers.

Godric's emotions warred with his logic. He had no wish to face a Cassie who no longer recognized him, but he couldn't leave her out in the cold. She was human, it was unhealthy. He was also confused by her mentions of her mother, who should have been long dead.

"Can you figure out how to get to the map on the tablet?"

"I didn't even know that this thing was on. It's like nothing I'd ever seen. It's like an iPhone and a Blackberry had some weird illegitimate child." Look at that, Godric. Cassie can't even bring herself to say 'bastard'. This is all kinds of wrong.

Another knee-knocking breeze traveled through the buildings, causing Cassie to shudder a little, and withdraw into herself, trying to make as small a target as possible.

Godric did his best to explain how to access the map, directing her to the nest. What else could he do? This wasn't the Cassie he knew, but she was still Cassie. He would feel wrong if he left her to her own devices, alone and apparently frightened. But he still hoped that Sookie or Dawn or even Eric might take it upon themselves to care for her. He wanted nothing more than to retreat into his bedroom and brood.

Cassie followed Godric's directions, bringing up the map function. She brought the tablet closer, studying each of the little labels then found the one he was referring to. "I'm...well, I don't know what the measuring distances are on this thing but...I don't think I'm very far away."

Cassie lifted her head, looking one direction then the other before tentatively starting in the direction she believed to be headed to the nest. She watched the map as she did, then immediately turned went the other way. The little dot that was her was headed in the opposite direction and she aimed to fix that.

Godric opened the map on his own tablet and found the dot that indicated Cassie's location. She wasn't far, and it wouldn't take her long to get to the nest. Godric couldn't say he was looking forward to it.

"You're not far. I'll let you in when you get here."

"Alright. Thank you," Cassie nodded.

A few minutes later, Cassie arrived at the residence that Godric had directed her to on the map. Her heartbeat picked up a little and she exhaled slowly. You can do this. If they end up being psychos or something, you still know how to run, Cassie coached herself, then lifted her hand to knock on the door.

It was a nice house, very upper class. Very post-modern in its outer stylings.

Godric knew Cassie was there before she knocked. Her familiar scent, the sound of her heartbeat, all of it alerted him to her presence. It still took him a few moments after she knocked to make his way to the door, unusually hesitant.

The Cassie that met his eyes when he opened the door actually looked different somehow, as if she were uncomfortable in her own skin. Always before, Cassie had been confident in her looks, and neither Godric or Eric had failed to appreciate it. Now Godric had the urge to offer her a coat.

"Come in, please." He stepped aside, giving her room to pass him into the warmth of the house.

Eric was coming up from his own room, about to talk to Godric about maybe informing him the next time his maker brought over amnesiac breathers to entertain himself. Not that he was irked at himself for not noticing Cassie approaching earlier, nope, not at all.

"Fancy seeing you here," he said to her dryly. Eric noticed the same differences that Godric had as he crossed into the living room to set himself down on the couch.

Cassie released the breath she was unconsciously holding, stepping into the house. "Thank you," Cassie said softly, hands shoved into the pockets of the long coat she had on. It had only done so much against the wind, which magically seemed to blow at just the right angle to part the front flaps of the coat and hit her bare legs.

Cassie glanced over at Eric when he entered the room, eyebrows arching towards her hairline. "Wow, you're...taller than I'd expected," Cassie stated, hoping he didn't noticed the tiny tremor of apprehension that caused her voice to waver. Good god, he was tall. All the easier to catch her if she ran away, oh god. "So, um, I gathered that the two of you...know me?" Cassie asked tentatively, looking from one man to the other. Were they brothers? Roommates? Best friends? Partners? Cassie had no clue, but she didn't want to ask outright. That would be rude.

To be fair, Eric, Godric might have informed you if things had happened less quickly. He'd just been too busy dealing with the emotional blow (you know, the one he'd unsuccessfully tried to block off so you wouldn't feel it).

Closing the door behind Cassie, Godric couldn't help but smile a little at Cassie's reaction to Eric's height. "You've been here for some time," he replied honestly. "I understand you don't remember, but we've known you for months now."
