Eric smirked at the hologram that had popped up on his tablet. Another new arrival, and this one looked to be quite a bit of fun.
"Points for an original entrance, but I'm afraid we'll have to deduct on the dismount." Yes, Sam - this was a fantastic start to your life here in Taxon. A bastardy blond vampire watching you squirm.
Sarcasm wasn't helping, damn it. Sam looked to the pedestal not too far from him, and moved towards it. But before he could reach it to check out the new face, he heard a yelp under his feet as he almost stepped on something.
Looking down, he just flat out didn't believe it. "Mojo!" Sam reached down, picking the dog up and looking to the weird tablet thing. He picked that up as well, and saw the highly entertained face he wasn't sure he liked on the screen. "Who're you?"
The small yappy dog got an arched eyebrow out of Eric. Not exactly the most useful of programmed possessions, but it wasn't as if one was able to choose what he brought.
"Eric Northman," he said dryly. "My amazing powers of observation tell me the dog is Mojo, so that just leaves you to complete this introductory circle."
Sam laughed when Mojo started licking at his face, and was almost grateful for something familiar. Even if it was weird that whoever kidnapped him had also decided to snatch his dog. He had a car that would be a lot more interesting to the kind of person who'd do this, after all. "Sam." He held Mojo at a slight distance so the licking would be over. "Sam Witwicky."
Which left the almighty question at last. "Where am I?"
"Sam Witwicky," he repeated, enunciating it. An odd name. Eric looked him over appraisingly. He was rather good at judging, but it was always best to check. Assuming did make an ass out of you and me. "Human, I take it?"
He waved a hand to indicate the entirety of the place. "You are now in Taxon. Quaint little place, but it has its high points if one keeps an open mind."
Why was it people always got stuck on the last name? "Yeah..." He said slowly, wondering what aside from human was hanging out here, and listened to the rest of what Eric had to say. Taxon. That sounded, well, like something out of a scifi novel. So basically, like something out of his life.
"How is there a high point to being kidnapped to some place with a weird name?" He was missing the boat on that one.
It's a strange name, Sam. Even to someone who's been around and heard pretty much every name ever. Besides, 'Witwicky' is just fun to say.
"There is the entire free room and board, being able to hatch up most anything you could want. And, this is a personal bonus, of course, but I have enjoyed not bursting into flame when the sun comes up." Eric shrugged nonchalantly.
He wasn't sure he actually wanted to know what that was about, but Sam couldn't help asking. "So you're trying to tell me what, that you're a vampire?" He laughed it off. Mostly.
But since aliens clearly existed, it didn't go so well. "... You're not, right? I mean come on, that's just like... That'd be too weird. Right?" No, he didn't believe it.
Eric simply smirked, and it grew wider as the boy faltered. Man, it was just too much fun when sharing the v-word with people who didn't already know.
"I'm not trying to say anything. Merely stating." He let his fangs run out ever so slowly as he spoke - by the time he finished, he grinned to show off the desired effect.
And 'freaked out' was a vast and ridiculously inaccurate understatement in the face of this one. It just... Was. "Oh." Sam muttered as his brain tried to process what he was seeing. Those really were fangs. Very long, very unpleasant looking fangs.
On a vampire. A real live vampire. Well, not so much 'live' as it was a vampire. "... I'm uh... I'm... I'll be... I'm uh... I should go. And find some place to do stay." Away from the vampire.
Retracting the fangs, Eric gave a low, dark chuckle. Humans really were too easy sometimes. But that was what made them so very entertaining distractions.
"That would be very wise, Mr. Witwicky. Who knows how long you'll be here with us - you might as well make yourself comfortable." He gave a slow wink before continuing, "I'm sure we'll be seeing quite a bit of each other."
Was Eric milking this? What gave you your first clue.
