011: [visual] & [location: Hyperion Hotel] Trying hard not to remember that I didn't

[The question was, of course, rhetorical, but it seemed like the best way to start a conversation at the moment.]

[Well hello there, person whose voice she doesn't recognize! Still immersed in anger over her less-than-stellar week, she doesn't hold back on her irritation as she replies:]

Yes, because naturally I rant like a crazy person when I'm okay.

[...cue a sigh.]

Sorry about that. Just... just woke up from a crappy glitch, that's all. I didn't mean to... you know.

[She takes a deep breath to stop herself from rambling further]

You did? Wow. This place just gets suckier and suckier.

[Cordelia smiles now. For some reason, this person reminds her of Fred.]

Yeah, I am. A bit on the edge, but generally? Very okay now, since my memories are now... you know. Here. Thanks.

I'd have much more colourful language to refer to them to, but retarded? I'm sure Spock would lecture you how the people responsible for doing this are probably anything but mentally deficient.

[ OOC: I hope it's okay with you to assume Angel asked Bones to check up on Cordy off screen? ]

Cordelia yelped, heart jumping at the sound. Not like she expected the aliens to reply or anything, but the timing was just... yeah.

Recognizing Angel's voice, she willed herself to calm down and breathe before walking to her door and opening it.

"You mean aside from the fact that I've realized the aliens have had their jollies with little ol' me? Yeah, just fantastic, thanks."

[ location: hyperion hotel ]

"What? Being all Ms. Oh-my-God-what's-going-on-who-am-I-who-are-you for the past week?" She looked down at her feet. "Yeah. I do. Kinda wished I didn't."

Cordelia turned around and walked back to her bed. "That was some glitch. I mean - at least I think it was a glitch. Do you know what glitches are?"

Okay, Buffy's tone might have been slightly on the amused side, but it was quite a relief to hear Cordelia back to her usual rant-y self.

Cordelia rolled her eyes. "I think I would've felt better if I was able to stick something sharp and pointy down their throats or through their eyeballs."

Not that ranting didn't have merits, but killing things were much more satisfying than shouting at them.

"Points for graphic." Buffy made a suitably grossed out face at Cordelia's choice of language. "And yes, impotent yelling does lack the satisfaction value of... umm, potent... killing and I think I lost track of my witticism somewhere around here."

Her complete failure to form a coherent sentence aside, she then added, much more simply. "It's good to have you back."

"You? Lose your wits? No." She shook her head as if to reinforce her point.

Cordelia grinned. "Thanks, Buffy! It really is. Although the next time something like this happens to me? You have my authorization to just knock me out of my misery, okay?"
