Jessica had spent a lot of the time since Halloween thinking about what Godric and Eric had said to her. About her life being her own, and being able to make her own choices. She even had a think about what they'd said about her urges and giving into them. About making it a balance between resisting and controlling, and knowing when she shouldn't resist.
It wasn't exactly easy for her. Hoyt had been, well, special. Truth be told, she was still a little hung up on him. He was her first, and he liked her even with her being a vampire. That alone was special, wasn't it? Course, it wasn't like she wouldn't have done it before. But she'd never had the chance and now that she had-

She'd taking to walking a bunch. Being out in the day was real nice, and Jessica was going to spend as much time in the sun as she could in case she got whisked back to Dallas or even Bon Temps. There wasn't going to be so much sun there.
Today she was following the map on her tablet. It was like a little blackberry, and the red dot led her away from the nest down narrow streets until she was smack-dab in front of a house she knew very well.
"Holy shit," she swore, nearly dropping the tablet. "What are you doing here?"
