"Well I am a delicate flower, no matter what my rugged exterior might indicate to the contrary." He says this with as much sincerity as he can reasonably fake on short notice.
"And how're you farin' of late?"

"Been better," she understates. "You know how that goes. What...exactly are you making?"

"Anythin' you'd like to talk on?" The offer's there, should she choose to take it, though he certainly won't press. He shakes his head ruefully in the direction of the mixing jug. "It's a drink called 'Mudder's Milk'-- comes from Canton, a town on one of the backwater moons. S'posed to be a meal in a glass, and alcoholic as an added bonus. Evidently I got somethin' wrong here."

The jug in front of him gets the benefit of a look of distaste. "That would explain the flavor." He pauses, before adding with an air of mischief. "Want me to make you up a batch?"

"Clearly you're a woman of discerning taste." He chuckles, shaking his head. "Shall I deliver or would you like to have your bourbon on the ship?" ...because if he's holding the mud, bourbon is pretty much all there is left of the whole mixture.

"Ship, huh?" She asks, with a hint of piqued curiosity. "Wouldn't mind seeing where Captain lays all his best plans."

"Or worst plans, as the case sadly does tend to more frequently be." He replies, self-deprecatingly. It's all truth, though-- his plans never run smoothly. "Well, you're more than welcome to pay a visit. She's called Serenity," there's a definite hint of pride in the way he says the name of the ship, "and she's docked nice and visibly in Sanctuary Square. Can't miss her."
