Eric's attack on Faith, Buffy is currently in the training room at the back of the Magic Box, and behind her in a pile is what looks to be the entire contents of the weapons chest and closet combined. She's pacing and she has that determined 'means business' look in her eye that tends to indicate that something major is about to go down.

"I'm happy to help in any way that I can, but being fairly new here my advice would probably be more useful if you could update me on this vampire situation - how many, the layout of the area, any discernible patterns that could be of use, that sort of thing."
He pauses, and then adds, "I know you haven't seen much of me since Sunnydale, but if you're taking along non-Slayer fighters, I'm improved a bit from the standing around and screaming like a little girl days."

"Well, as far as I know, there's three of them- only two of which I've spoken to in person. I haven't been to Fangtasia physically, but I've seen it on the tablets. It's in a mostly residential area-- it's not all that big, much smaller than the Bronze, for example. I think it has a back entrance, barred windows. The vampires aren't like the ones in our world-- from what I heard from Faith, they're stronger, faster and can fly. I don't know much about their comings and goings, but I have Xander looking into that ( ... )

"I'm sure you're looking into magical methods of torching, but I'd strongly consider a mix of the magical and the mundane. I think Fred can help with that. Fire is a powerful weapon and it grows more destructive and uncontrollable with each added element, but that might work to our advantage in this case because we can't be sure that these vampires have the same weakness to normal fire as those in our world. I think if Giles, Willow, Fred, and I" (he's not aware of the other witches yet) "could sit down with a rough schematic, we could work out a safe combination. Rather the same way that those who plan demolitions don't just toss dynamite into the basement and run for it."
There's another pause, similar to his earlier one, after which he adds, "I can appreciate your sentiments and your judgment, and your logic is sound, but if Cordelia or Fred go please understand that I'm going as well no matter what battle plan is eventually drawn up."

Then she nods, very much in approval with Wesley's plan. "Sounds good to me. Willow's already on her way to the high school library to get into research mode, if you want to join her," (that'll be a blast from the past for him, no doubt) "and I just spoke to Fred. Xander worked in construction for years, so he knows demolition- he's gonna take care of the explosives side of things. If you guys figure out the magical end, that would be great."

"Yeah, not so much." She answers honestly, with regards to the rethink. "But thank you. I'll try."

"Umm... I'm not sure. Me, obviously. Spike, that's a definite. Dean, too. Also Xander. Possibly Wesley. Maybe Angel, but I don't know. So that's four people for certain."

After a moment, she tilts her head to the side, getting an idea. It's possible it won't work. But still. "I could also try finding something that could get them to not notice us out and about. A little extra protection."

"That'd be amazing, Will, on both counts-- Dawn can help with the research, she's... disturbingly talented at that stuff now. I think I'm going to need all the protection I can get."

Willow climbed to her feet, starting for the door of her apartment. "Let Dawnie know where I'm heading, please?"
Reply
"I will do. Keep in touch, and let me know if you find anything?"

Sorry Buffy, extremely bad timing here.
But Cordelia apparently reconsiders. "I'll try, although in return I want to be in on the action. Kinda in the mood to kill vamps." Just... don't ask her which vampire she's talking about.

She's grateful, however, for Cordelia's acquiescence. "Thank you." And yet here is a slightly weary sigh, before she continues. "Cordelia, I mean this in the nicest way, but you cannot come along for this field trip. These vampires aren't like the ones in our world-- they're stronger, faster and one of them beat the crap out of Faith without even trying. I don't want you dying because of this."

The look on her face says that she means it. It's really not personal though, she just would rather not endanger more people than absolutely necessary, and she's genuinely worried about how strong these vampires are and how easily they beat down Faith-- which means they could do the same to her, which means she wouldn't be able to protect people-- and that is not guilt she wants to deal with.

Plus, there was no way she was letting her go in on this alone, especially if she was asking for help. And...okay, yes, he might be feeling a tad bit guilty, because there's the smallest chance he played a hand here. He has a feeling Faith pulled herself into this one, though.
"So do you have any plan for what we'll do if they start speedin' round the building like the sodding Road Runner while we're setting charges?"

His question unsettles her a little, although truthfully she had already considered that possibility herself. "I was thinking of welding the doors shut before we get started? Sealing off the exits might nip that whole Road Runner difficulty in the bud."

"It's a possibility." She admits, with something of a frown. "I guess if that happens we just go to Plan B."
