In the end Peter had no idea how he had made it from the bookstore in Osten back to the Sanctuary. He knew he had lost more blood than was healthy during the fight with the mysterious woman. He'd even feel guilty if he had known how he bled all over the foyer. Except that he had lost conciousness right after he hit the floor. Pushing the gate and the large oak doors finally did him in, taking the last of his strength. Hell once he realized it when he woke up, he felt really pathetic actually. Nathan would be shaking his head at this.
Now it was two days later. Peter had found himself going in and out of unconsciousness over the last forty-two hours. At least the beds in the infirmary of the Sanctuary For All were comfortable and easy to sleep in. The few things he did remember over the last two days were Dr. Magnus's brief conversations of his condition before he'd black out again. Two of the five wounds on his face had to be sealed with stitches, as did the incisions from when the glass shattered everywhere. Then there was the nasty bruise on his leg right down to the muscle from the chair, and then the deep wound in his shoulder caused by the stake (which ironically was once part of a chair too). Though in Peter's mind it translated to as 'severally screwed up.' Magnus also mentioned Max being the one to drag his sorry ass to the infirmary after bleeding all over the foyer. Though only half that statement really made it into a coherent understanding in his head.
When the tablet kicked on he was still sleeping, but moved slightly in his sleep. Unfortunately it caused the pain in his shoulder and wound in his arm to flare up and made him snap awake, staring at the ceiling above him. This was going to suck. He sighed before closing his eyes and raising his unwounded hand to his face to cover his eyes.
Why was he always trying to be the hero anyways?
