01. [Holo / Arrival] Not the afterlife. Probably.

"Two thousand years, and I can still be surprised. In this I see God." The girl was crying for him, and in turn he could only smile for her, his heart light for the first time in over a century. The horizon beckoned, and he obeyed its call ( Read more... )

Cassie watched the young man for a minute. He couldn't be any older than she was. "Well, for one, I'd imagine you'd want to know where your shirt went. And that, I can't tell you," Cassie offers.

"What I can tell you is that you're in Taxon. Which will mean nothing to you. But that's where you are." Cassie sat outside on a patch of grass, letting the fake sunshine beat down on her skin. Pooch was curled up on the grass beside her, dozing peacefully.

Godric stared at the projection of the girl, wondering what to make of it.

"I'm not concerned with my shirt." He knew where it went, anyway. "I should be dead. Why am I here?"

"No one really knows yet why we're brought here. Science experiments, repopulating the earth. Fuck only knows. People joke that it's either pirates or aliens to blame," Cassie nods, playing with long piece of grass, looking down at the tablet on her wrist.

Godric was silent while he took a moment to digest that. When he finally spoke, it sounded a little dubious, but not in a matter that suggested he thought Cassie was lying. Just like he thought the whole situation was questionable.

"Repopulating? The population of Earth was in no danger the last I checked. If I understand you correctly, there are a number of people here. Does anyone know where precisely we are? Or how we were brought here?" He'd love to know how someone managed to transport him here in one piece after he'd been burned to wisps of ashes.

"Definitely the showiest entrance I've seen in this craphole since I got here. Bravo," comes a bored-sounding voice from the tablet.

"And how long have you been here?" He didn't care how showy his entrance was. He wanted information.

"Long enough." He shrugs. Yeah, good luck getting help out of this guy.

Eric had been toying with the tablet, and at this point was more than aware of the device's tendency to transmit whether one had left it on or not. So it wasn't that much of a surprise to the vampire when it clicked on once again. Casting an eye towards it, he expected it was another arrival, or perhaps two more learning they were stuck together for the time being.

But that voice. Eric grabbed the tablet with both hands, and if it wasn't quite so indestructible, it would have cracked from how tightly he gripped it. He couldn't help but stare at the small hologram of his maker.

It took a moment for him to speak, and even then it was somewhat strangled, as if something was blocking his throat. "...Godric?"

The girl had said Eric was here, but it was daylight, so Godric hadn't expected to see him. Not so soon, if ever again. Had his heart still beat, it might have skipped.

"Eric." Even as his insides twisted at the thought of making Eric mourn for him twice, he couldn't help but feel the same soaring sensation of love he felt every time he saw his child. It was the closest thing to happiness he had left.

This wasn't possible. It couldn't be. Godric had... He'd felt it when morning broke over the Hotel Carmilla. But here Godric was. Right there. On the tablet.

It was daylight, yes, but Eric was experimenting with this new sun and not sleeping. He'd been expecting a little more time in order to build up to actually going outside - it's hard to break the habit - but. He had to go see him. Had to make sure this was real. So he started for the door to Fangtasia at breakneck speed.

He could barely get out a clipped, "I'm coming for you." Don't move, don't go away, don't leave me again.

"Eric!" Had he gone mad? It was daylight!

"Eric, stop! You'll burn!" Was Eric so shocked at seeing him that he'd completely lost all sense?

Pam offers an actual bow; not the half mocking inclination of her head the rest of Taxon is so very familiar with.

"Godric." The maker of her maker; older than Eric, and even more powerful. She owes him respect, at the very least.

Pam must have been the 'blond chick' the girl had been speaking of.

"Pam. So you're here as well." He knew very little of Pam, had only met her briefly on one or two occasions. But she had been good for Eric, and she was proud and loyal, so Godric was fond of her.

...Oh, that description would just thrill Pam forever. Only by thrilled, she might mean aggravate.

"Yes." Keeping her face respectful, she nods again. Godric and Eric had parted ways long before Eric made her, but even if she didn't-- in a roundabout way-- owe her existence to him, his age and power deserved a certain amount of deference.

Well then, he'll just have to get to know her better, won't he? After all, he wouldn't want to aggravate a woman wearing four-inch heels. He may be powerful, but he's not crazy.

"Have you been well?" Frankly, he wasn't sure if it was the right question to ask. Being kidnapped hardly constituted 'well', they both knew that, but all things were relative.

This particular Sookie hasn't had the (pleasure?) of meeting Godric yet, or being saved by him, so there's no recognition in her face or voice as she answers-- she's actually just looking to help out a new arrival, even if she can tell that he's not human. The paleness and odd inflection of speech are enough to indicate that, given the amount of time she's spent around vampires lately.

"I'd be happy to offer one of those- most people tend not to like 'em though."

She is, of course, referring to explanations.

Godric, on the other hand, remembered Sookie very well. How could he not? She had just been there with him, keeping him company at the end.

"Miss Stackhouse. You're here as well?" He seemed a little startled, but not unpleasantly so.

Well, in the general vein of being startled but not unpleasantly so (Godric's term of address was very polite after all), Sookie looks surprised to be recognised by this unknown vampire.

"I am-- I'm sorry, but do I know you?"

And that, of course, was startling in an unpleasant way. Godric looked briefly concerned.

"You don't remember me? But you were just-" Godric paused abruptly. Hadn't Cassie mentioned that people often came here from different times?
