[Holo, Hollow]

As soon as she finished the repairs her Prowler would be operational enough for her to get off this rock. Sweat pooled in her eyes and she paused long enough to sweep it away with her wrist. Grease and oil slid across her skin, strongly scented, gritty...real. This was real, this was solid, this was life as she could understand it ( Read more... )

"Aeryn, don't shoot it." John had been staring at the holographic image of the latest arrival, unsure how he felt about her being here. Was he pleased to see her? Of course he was, even it hadn't been of her own volition. He couldn't imagine ever not being pleased to see her, and it had been so long. His moment of contemplation was broken by her actions though, right now he had to stop her making a big mistake.

"It's your key out of there, destroy it and you're never getting out of that room."

"Crichton?"
The blinking pad now showed the image of the human, her voice was more shaky than she would have cared to hear. Her pulse pistol was lowered, taken in one hand, but not returned to the holster at her thigh. She had seen him, so many times, heard him in her mind ever since... ever since he died.
"A key, out of here?" She seemed rather dubious to that, but something about seeing him, regardless which version, made her trust him on some level. "Where am I?" Half convinced this was some trick of the Scorpius to use her to retrieve John.

"Yeah, just trust me, okay." That was a joke in itself, she didn't trust him at all, not if what the old woman had said was true.

"You don't get out the door without the tablet, Aeryn. It's kinda like a guide, map, communicator for this place all rolled in to one. It's kinda their way of ensuring you keep it, I guess."

John pulled at the bridge of his nose, "Where are we? 'S a good question. All I know is it's called Taxon, it's a city. People reckon it's underground, and so far - no way out."

Trust him. Did he even understand what he was asking. Though it seemed there was no other way out of this place, she supposed this was the best course of action for the time being ( ... )

Aeryn looked around, directing her attention down to the pad once more where the voice had issued from.
"So this is an extension of Tormented Space."
He wouldn't get the joke, but anyone who knew her might be pleased to hear her joke and see a smile cross her lips.

Not sure about that. A lot of people find it like Hell though. There's a phone option -- kind of like a voice communicator, thingie.
