Helen watched the ceiling of the elevator. Her fingers drummed on the daily roster in her hands as she waited for her destined floor. Things had certainly taken a turn for the worst as of late. Having clinically died and returned thanks to Will's brilliant plan in the submarine was something she never wanted to relive. Now she understood what had ( Read more... )

[Oh, look, more new arrivals. Dean sounds groggy when he answers.]

Taxon, sweetheart. Or Boringville, if you're looking for a better name.

[ Well, it doubles as a regular phone. Helen holds it to her ear as a regular phone. ]

Taxon. It certainly isn't something from Old City.

And Old City would be... what?

The eldest part of New York, of course. It is where my base of operations is at.

And what, exactly, is your base of operations?

It's not something you've most likely heard of. It's... something along the lines of a sanctuary.

Sanctuary for what? Homeless people? Dogs? Aliens?

We refer to them as Abnormals.

[... Dean doesn't like the sound of that.]

Abnormal as in having six toes?

People or creatures with abnormalities in their genetic and physiology. What some would consider "myths."

So what, you're like Professor X?

notanemptymotto August 23 2009, 08:05:06 UTC
Hardly. Professor X merely deals with mutated humans. Not the things that go "bump" in the night, as it were. Honestly you should know the entirety of something before you attempt to reference it.

Hey. All you said was abnormalities in their genetic and physiology. Isn't that what mutants are? Chill out, Miss Perfect.

[Eyebrow raise.] ... You're saying you take care of monsters, then.

You'll have to forgive me. My adopted son is a rather large fan of the Marvel works. I meant no hostility.

[ There is a pause. ]

They are not monsters, but yest hey are mythological beings. And the occasional advanced human or humanoid. I founded the organization that is known as "Sanctuary For All."

Yeah, well. He's not the only one.

[Dean is vaguely irritated, and he also doesn't like the way this Sanctuary is being described.]

You can't be serious. You're giving those things a home?

[ Helen isn't liking the way this is going. Or the way the man is talking. ]

They are not things. They are living beings just as you or I. And everything needs a home and a place to belong. However we do capture the most dangerous Abnormals that cannot be allowed to roam free.
