Ok so technically today is my bday but my celebration was yesterday. Friday I did the flight of the bumble bee to clean the house. I even scrubbed the vent cover over the stove (I know, anal tendencies). I just wanted the place to be clean for my guests.
Saturday I got up and did more cleaning, even washed the stairs down (they were gross). Got son out of bed and fed and then ran off to Target (kitty litter and coffee creamer), the Dollar Tree (bunch of yummy goodies plus the paper plates and cups) and then Trader Joes (my new love) for the munchies. I called my son on the way and he was ASLEEP! Crap! I had wanted him to carry all the bags upstairs because I wanted to change the litterbox, wash up the dishes and do the final walk through of the place. Overall it was fine since no one arrived on time. Oh and yay for closets to fling crap into!
Anyways with the small amount of guests I had in my home I still felt frazzled. I wanted to make sure everyone had a drink ,something to eat and wasnt bored. I fear I neglected people and I feel bad. The food was a hit, which is awesome! I got some WONDERFUL gifts too! I even got some winning lottery tickets (Thanks Hartman!) and flowers/Balloon (from Deedle!). I loved that since I havent received flowers in eons. My sister got me the Garth Brooks Greatest Hits CD/DVD combo which is way cool ( amazed at mhow many songs I know)! Hilary got me a gorgeous candle holder which is a globe type thingy with some candles for it(I put it in my room away from the cats). Amber got me a gift card to VS to which my son rolled his eyes. LOL! Melanie got me a book and an oil burner (works really well, I can smell from across the room)that has a scent for wellness(I need that!). Joann and Eddie got me a really cute blouse in shades of brown and teal, along with matching jewelry, a purse holder thing for table and such (I hope my purse isnt too heavy for it) and a book on birthdays and a religious one too. My son got me a clock radio/CD player which is nice and narrow. Still trying to figure out all the buttons on it. :) Hartmans daughter had so much fun with the cats and I am glad. I know shes a shy little thing and I dont want anyone to be bored at my home! I am thrilled that everyone came (even from the long drive, thanks Amber!). Amber was most awesome to clean up for me too. That really helped. :) I think the majority of the people were here for a good few hours, yaya for fun with friends and family. Red and Mego had family obligations so they couldnt make it, but thats understandable! Besides that gives me 2 more times to celebrate!
I have to say that the food was yummy! My son was scrounging for leftovers after everyone left but he didnt find much.
I didnt watch the hockey game last night because after the party I wanted to watch the Garth Brooks DVD. It was so good! I was singing along with my crackly voice. My son and I then went to Target (so I could pick out my CD Radio) and to spemd some of my gift card from one of my managers. I bought a new watch! Still have $$ left on the card too. I have to say that shopping Target at 8pm is ideal; no lines, I could watch the aisles without ankle impalement from shopping carts. :)
Woke this morning to a doozy headache and my period. UGH! I am supposed to meet up with Andrea for lunch (portuguese food!) today and then I will watch the Superbowl at my sisters. My son has to work at 4:30. Part of me just wants to crawl back into bed and stay there for the day. However, I wont. Or will I? Hehe.
41 wasnt so bad and I just know that this year will be awesome! Hell, I might even find romance (whatever that is).
