Thinking about the elements of story telling and character archetypes, Eida seems very much like a shape shifter. Shape shifters alternate between being villains and allies, and according to my story telling class, they also often serve as the main protagonist's lover. If Boruto is the main protagonist of Boruto, then Eida may turn out to be his lover-- that is, if Boruto would follow the elements of story telling according to Vogler. In the manga, the sexual characteristics of Eida are especially accentuated. So, Eida may turn out as Boruto's main love. How disappointing for Sumire, who is in love with Boruto. Well, BoruSumi seems a bit similar to NaruHina, and some fans may want the pairings to turn out differently in Boruto than they were in Naruto.
In Naruto, the main protagonist married an ally, not a shape shifter. The only troublesome thing about Hinata is that she sort of stalked Naruto and watched him a lot. But, she was a very cute stalker, and she sometimes helped Naruto on missions. Whenever Naruto talked to her, her face would turn red, and she sometimes fainted. Many thought Naruto would marry his team mate, Sakura, but he ended marrying Hinata. The reason is because Hinata resembled the wife of the author of Naruto, so Kishimoto picked Naruto's wife to resemble his own.
Whose to say whether Boruto will wind up with Sumire or Eida? BoruSumi would seem like NaruHina all over again, but the story of Boruto is Japanese, so who knows if it'll follow the western archetypes of story telling?
