An alley cat, heretofore called Karate Kat because of her affinity for the martial arts place around the corner, seems to have adopted me. She comes to my door over and over and follows me down the block. I can't let her in but now the good-natured neighbors are asking me to do something for this super friendly kitty. I volunteered to take Karate Kat to the vet if she's around on Saturday (and she will be, she's like a cute, skinny, lovable bad penny). But it breaks my heart closing the door on her when it's so cold out there.
I tried lost/found on Craigslist and talking to neighbors and the next step is taking her to the vet to check for a microchip. I can pretty much guarantee she doesn't have one. I want to help but I learned a lesson last year when I took an obviously owned and obviously in pain cat to the vet. That's $200 and a migraine I'll never get back or over.
And now Dumas is crying at Karate Kat from this side of the window. AARRRRGGGGHHHH.
