Hurricane Rita
We had to stay in Houston since Patrick is a prison guard and required to work. They were originally going to move all the prisons to Huntsville. Then they decided to leave his unit in place and just move some inmates from another unit to his (cause they lived in tin buildings). So he got stuck working 12 hour days Thursday and Friday but is off today and tomorrow, like normal. I had already planned on taking Friday off so stayed at the house and prepared for the worst.
Looks like we got lucky when the hurricane decided to turn to the East. We live on the West side of Houston and have only gotten a little bit of rain and some winds. The rain hasn't even been enough to make puddles. There is only one tree branch down (and it's rather small) in our apartments. We are still getting some sprinkling and wind gusts but nothing serious.
Hope everyone that decided to evacuate, made it to their destinations safely.
