and I thought I was happy that the 'For Rent' sign was gone...

I haven't actually seen the new neighbors yet, but I came home from shopping today to find that some of my plant boxes were gone; my several-year-old rosemary, a very nice basil plant, and some of my strawberries. Suspiciously, they were all in one row, right behind where a careless truck driver might back past the concrete and into the dirt, though there were no incriminating smashed remains in the trashcans. I called up the landlord and indeed, the new guy is supposed to be moving in today.

It seemed unlikely that a roving band of plant thieves would take one of my boxes of strawberries but not the other two next to it, but I tried to put off judgement and settled down to check on what the TIVO had recorded...to find it looking uselessly for the satellite. I popped outside again, to find that they had disconnected my satellite; not even unscrewed it but actually yanked the splices apart. And my cat carrier, sitting outside waiting to be washed after taking Cinder to the vet yesterday, was gone too.

This is so not a promising start to our relationship as neighbors.

On a slightly more cheerful note, katchoo_too, malacissation, and I successfully performed Mission: Bridesmaid Outfits at Dress Barn this afternoon. We got blue-on-black tops that will be paired with long black skirts. Should look quite elegant.

weddings, crazy neighbors, plants
