We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty

My name is Emma, and I believe in opening night magic.

Not a perfect show by any account, but you know what? It was impossible, what we just pulled off. It's impossible that the five, intricately detailed model miniatures got finished before noon. It's impossible that, after less than one rehearsal/tech run with all technical components, Anne ran such a controlled, slick show. It's impossible that Harry's solo number came together in a couple hours of coaching and suggestions. It's definitely impossible that Cathleen's video, which she finished editing about an hour before curtain, came off as perfectly as it did. And it's beyond impossible that the computer/Qlab did not jump a cue, freeze up, or quit out during the entirety of the show - something it has been doing nonstop for the last four days.

Still not happy about the intensely stressful process that got us here, but god damn, I am glad that we can start coasting a little.

I need to remember that I am truly blessed to be able to do this work for a living. Normal people have to get drunk to do this much crazy shit.

(Also! I threw together a pretty sweet e-newsletter in less than an hour, which I think I can consider a personal best)
