I do feel sorry for the SGU fans, because I, too, remember how devastated I was at hearing the news about SGA. However, the producers who turned their back on an excellent and successful show and fans of a franchise to indulge their own fantasies...got what they deserved. I can't imagine Gene Roddenberry ever saying 'we don't need you' and 'you aren't sophisticated enough' to the legion of fans of the original Star Trek series when STTNG was launched. These guys are idiots and don't understand SciFi fans...very loyal, perhaps more loyal than fans of any other genre.
I find the fact that the cast and crew learned from Twitter to simply be indicative of the self-serving and self-directed attitude of the producers. To have known and not tell the cast before they hear it on Twitter is simply disgusting, and proves their lack of concern or respect for the cast.
I, for one, am not sorry to see SGU go, but I fear for one of the most incredible scifi franchises and its future. Perhaps JF's statement in the interview trailer for "Change of Plans" was more telling than we thought. He did say he was confident that he would play Sheppard again. Movie??? But can we get new producers....PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
