Things for a Friday Evening
1. I de-anonned my 1stclass_kink WiP!Fills last night because the 10k comment limit was about to be hit.
I've uploaded one (what there is so far) to LJ but I think both are probably best viewed over at AO3. (That being said - I'm always sad that people don't comment very much at AO3 (though Kudos are lovely) mostly because I am such a comment whore.)
So, without further ado:
WiP!Fill 1 - Words Will Bring Us Together, which is epic length epistolary style fic which was originally meant to be about the post-canon teams matchmaking Erik & Charles and instead became all about canon blending and rebuilding and treating this film as complete reboot of the film franchise. (There is background Hank/Raven & Alex/Darwin.)
WiP!Fill 2 - The Kids Are Alright, which is a single!parent!Erik AU, nominally set in modern day Oxford (in that hazy sort way I set things in places ala Twentysomethings' New York City) and not "as AU as you might think". Has nothing to do with the film of the same name. Also - one of my favourite things I've written in a while.
(I accidentally set it up as if complete on the AO3 and got someone asking me for a sequel. Oops. There is more, commenter! So much more! So. much.)
I've been lax on them for a few weeks so part of the reason I've de-annoned is to give myself some more impetus. I just ended up doing a lot of sleeping when I should've been writing on my hols (also, so many people! and places! how did I get so busy?)

2. Geekmas (otherwise known to mortals as San Diego Comic Con) is in full swing and Marvel is spoiling me with glorious images of The Avengers:
(Marjorie Liu's recent run on Black Widow made me fall in love with Natascha.)
(The grabby hands I made at this image, you have no idea. I've loved Hawkeye since that terrible Iron Man cartoon way back in the day.)
(Which also shows you Cap's Avengers costume.)
(And Iron Man's new armour. MK IV, is it? Or MK III? I get so lost in the films.)
I am so excited about this film. May 2012 cannot come soon enough!
Also courtesy of Geekmas: the news that Edgar Wright will be starting work on the third Cornetto movie with Simon Pegg very soon, which is of the !!!! making. Also also: I think it was duckgirlie I was speculating at (when she visited me last week) that the gap in Edgar's schedule and the fact that he seemed to be permanently attached to Joe Cornish suggested they were working on the Ant-Man script. Turns out I was right - Edgar was asked at Comic Con (there promoting the sublime Attack The Block opening next week in the US, hopefully somewhere near you) and said they turned a draft in to Marvel last Monday.
I've speculated for a long time that they might try and spin Ant-Man out of The Avengers, mostly because I think, whether they go with Hank Pym or Scott Lang (I think Edgar said Scott last time he was asked), he's a hardsell on his own. Much harder than any of the other heroes Marvel's built solo outings for. It only really needs to be a throwaway line but that'd do it.
3. Sirens folk my find it relevant to their interests that I am working on a Stuart/Ashley story at the moment. It's coming in fits and starts and may turn out much longer than I intended but I think I'm getting into Stuart's head pretty well. (It is worrying if you trace the trends in characters I identify with.)
Also: there is sirens_fic for general Sirens happy times. I particularly recommend the WiP faithbeckett is working on: The Curious Case of Ashley Greenwick.
4. I am reccing a lot on the Twitter machine these days - if you're interested in that (it's not all First Class, I promise) or my general ramblings: @JenTNova. It is locked down but if I recognise you I'll let you in and probably follow you back pretty much straight away.
5. There isn't a five, actually. I think that's enough given I started this entry about an hour ago.
6. Oh, wait! Everyone should be watching Suits. Seriously. You know that USA network is always good to you, right? You've seen Peter&Elizabeth&Neal in White Collar, you've seen Psych - you know USA gives excellent slash potential.
Well Suits seems to take all those things we like and smush them all into Harvey & Mike. I just. I have no words. I will have to find someone else's pimp post to express it for me.
