Tonight! On AC360 (26/10)

Oct 27, 2009 01:51

1. Anderson is out this evening and dear John King is sitting in.

Tonight! Keeping Them Honest - bankers. Digging Deeper - women are getting ripped off by insurance companies worse than men (hello, awkward sentence). Up Close - ESPN Scandal.

2. Joe Johns is here to tell us, um, about banks lobbying with the Bail-Out money?

...

Sometimes it feels a little like they're reaching on these Keeping Them Honest segments.

ETA: Aww, man. I would've liked to have seen Anderson interview Barney Frank. The Big 360 interview

3. H1N1 National Emergency and Sanjay is here to give us some brief information about the apparent shortage of the vaccine.

4. Erica's Bulletin: 14 Americans died in Afghanistan, two seperate incidents. At least 160 dead in double Baghdad bombings. Madoff associate drowned yesterday. Refund for Baby Einstein DVDs, or what?

Erica's kid is really smart, apparently.

5. ESPN Scandal - analyst guy fired for affair with another employee (who was also fired) and now he's checked into to Rehab for 'personal reasons'.

Talking Heads: Lori Brown (Sociology Prof - who believes that a lot of media stars use Rehab as an excuse to be bad) and addiction specialist Dr. Reef Karim.

Hah. Win from Karim: People ask me 'am I sex addict' and nine times out of ten I say 'No, you're just a jerk'.

Both our talking heads agree on sex addiction being real - and that sometimes celebrities take advantage of that and so put people who are actually in that circumstance in the position of being disbelieved.

It's...really nice to have Talking Heads in total agreement.

6. Health care & the gender gap - as AC360 calls it.

We start with Anderson interviewing a woman who was denied insurance when she tried to get reimbursed for HIV meds (that are given in most cases of drug rape) and this is...wow.

Seriously, America, you are fucked up.

Digging Deeper with: Sanjay Gupta, Marcia Greenberger and Candy Crowley.

Marcia starts us off with the horrifying fact that there are states that will let insurance companies get away with calling domestic abuse a pre-existing condition.

Seriously. I don't even know what to say to that.

Sanjay offers that women pay more for insurance than men. That's a proven fact. And that often pregnancy can be considered a pre-existing condition.

ETA: Back from break with the panel.

Candy takes us into the politics of Healthcare Reform.

Sanjay elucidates on what can happen to women and their babies should they not be able to afford adequate pre-natal care.

Marcia says her group will support the opt-out because at least it's something. But they want more. As well they should.

I just have to say this: y'all must be getting exhausted. I'm exhausted just observing from the outside.

7. Up Close with Erica - on a girl who showed up at a NYC shelter, amnesiac. She was identified by a CNN viewer.

8. Erica's Bulletin: NWA Flight 188 pilots were arguing about flight crew schedule changes whilst using their laptops on deck. Jury selection underway on a case in Texas to do with a polygamist. Kids not getting enough vitamin D. Levi Johnston nude for Playgirl, probably full frontal.

John: I'm 100% certain that I don't care.

9. Tonight's Shot: creepy cloud formation. Pretty neat, actually.

heal me doctor gupta!, love a pundit: john king & magic screen, tonight! on ac360
