One Shot ~ What a wonderful surprise

Meguro Ren is in Yokohama for Snow Man Labo tour opening Concert.
And so is Michieda Shunsuke, and not without some hidden agenda.

Inspired by Nanidan's Micchi, Daigo and Kyohei popping up at Suno Lab opening concert in Yokohama Arena last 5th October 2022.
I guess I just couldn't resist ;)
I'm also playing with some other RL hints/facts.
Also: beware, it's very sappy.

Meguro wonders if maybe he did it so wrong, by telling Koji a white lie.

But it's not really a lie, he reckons, if he considers that after the concert Koji asked him whether he knew about Michieda Shunsuke's whereabouts, which the Kansai colleague was frantically searching for.

He said he didn't know where to find him and it was actually the sole truth, back then.

The boy had shyly texted him only afterwards in fact, when he had already politely declined the offer of a late-night party with the members since he was expected to come back to Tokyo with the last train, drama filming due quite early in the morning the following day.

> Congratulations for your concert opening. I came to visit, together with Daigo-kun and Kyohei. Thank you for the tickets you provided for us all. It was so gentle of Meguro-kun. <

>> Don't even mention it. I had promised. <<

> And... A Snow Man concert is indeed something that everybody should live up for. I hope we can aim high as well, little by little. <

>> Sure you can. You have to. You're already doing so great! By the way, are the three of you already on your way back to Tokyo? <<

> I'm actually... not. <

>> Eh? What do you mean? <<

> I don't know whether... well, I'm sure you are all quite too busy tonight. But I just hoped I could meet Meguro-kun to say bye. <

>> Please do. Oh please, Michieda-kun. Please don't go before... well... <<

> Do you mean... if Meguro-kun doesn't have other plans... <

>> I haven't. <<

> Then... <

>> Then? <

> How about... Minato Mirai? <

Those two words alone carry a whole world together with them, and they're both quite aware of it. So that when Meguro had looked up from his smartphone, getting suddenly back to Planet Earth, Koji was long nowhere to find anymore. Probably looking for his beloved Kansai children while bragging aloud about them.

Will Koji's dream come true with a happy ending, he wonders?

It's not like it's his fault Michieda has (probably) not contacted his Kansai senpai yet. Or maybe, at all.

But when his feet have him finally reaching the familiar railing of Yokohama waterfront where he and Michieda had filmed the extra video for Kieta Hatsukoi drama, about Aoki and Ida's first supposed date in Yokohama, Meguro cannot think of anything else anymore.

There's Michieda already waiting for him there. All by himself, a tall and lanky figure bending slightly over the railing.

"Congratulations, Meguro-kun!", the boy welcomes him, waving at him with a smile that reaches even the tips of his longer and wavy hair, softly messed up by the strong wind.

He's radiant, and gorgeous. More than ever.

A sight that makes his stomach churn with sudden and not totally unexpected pleasure.

"Hi, Michieda-kun. Where are-"

"Ah, Kyohei and Daigo-kun are gone," Michieda tells him with a shrug. "I mean, I told them to come back home earlier than me after saying bye to Koji-kun. Not sure they did, if Koji-kun asks them to stay for a while, but still..."

"Wouldn't you like to join them?"

"Nope, not this time," Michieda says. I mean, I already got a hug from Koji-kun earlier and anyway ... we're in Yokohama now. And there's Minato Mirai here. And..." the boy trails off, breaking their eye contact and looking suddenly away, while scratching the bridge of his nose with the tip of a finger.

He turns and takes a few steps, just enough to leave the railing and reach the corner of a building where the festive lights all around them fade a little, granting more privacy.

"I'm glad there's Minato Mirai, then," Meguro adds, following him and smiling rather mischievously despite himself.

Michieda chews both lips, saying nothing.

"I thought... I honestly did not think... did not hope you would..." Meguro blurts out, out of the blue. "I mean, I'm so focused these days, between filming and drama promotion, the rehearsals and the live performances, that I didn't even think I could hope for... but then, when Raul noticed you and I saw your seats and people using their binoculars to spot you all I suddenly went... I mean... I don't know, but I was, I guess..."

He feels like an idiot, babbling like this.

And yet Michieda says nothing; he just keeps looking gently at him again, with maybe a faint shade of pink marking his smooth cheeks.

Meguro steps closer, he cannot help it, and his hand ends up threaded into the soft mass of Michieda's dark brown curls, trying hard to repress the distinct sigh of pleasure that hits his insides at once, as soon as the boy cocks his head to one side and leans openly into his touch like a purring kitten would, compliant and irresistible.

Meguro's palm brushes the shell of his ear, the growing line of his jaw, and his fingers delicately marvel at the softness of his scalp.

It's a fond, delicious caress he cannot refrain from, and none of them want the moment to end too soon; and still, Meguro feels like confessing, as if he couldn't keep things for himself anymore.

"Thanks for being here, right now," he whispers shyly.

Michieda nods, looking up at him without a word.

"You're always a surprise," Meguro comments with a smug smile, hinting at his fluffy hair.

"I... well, I hoped I could become, you know, a tad more interesting," Michieda replies, vincing a little.

"Oh but, Michieda-kun was born interesting to start with."

"Mmh. And I also hoped I could maybe stop looking like a child."

"You're not a child!" Meguro immediately retorts.

"Thanks Meguro-kun, but-"

"You're a toy poodle, in fact."

Michieda blinks once, then twice, mouth agape.

"A toy poodle I would like to cuddle with in bed all night long, just like with Moko-chan, if only I could."

Michieda brushes his face with the back of his hand after turning bright red at once, despite the semi-darkness of their location, and it's when Meguro realizes he's really said it all aloud.

"Oh my God, I didn't mean... ! I'm sorry, it was extremely rude of me," he quickly apologizes, groaning. "I mean, I do think what I said, for real. It's true I do, in fact. But I never intended to make it sound this bad. Oh my God it sounded THIS bad, even if it has frequently popped up, always so safe in my mind, and... well, I'm an idiot. I'm sorry."

Michieda burts out giggling, ever so softly.

"Meguro-kun?"

"Mh?"

Michieda leans forward, shyly and slowly and quite expectantly, and tenderly pecks Meguro on the lips. It's fleeting and soft, the touch, its memory lingering too short on Meguro's mouth before Michieda quickly pulls away and looks up at him, long eyelashes covering up the emotion nestled beyond a pair of beautiful gleaming eyes.

"I missed you," Michieda whispers, nervously biting his lower lip. "A lot."

And all Meguro knows is that there's no need for too many words between the two of them. Not when there's the starry sky of Yokohama all over them, the moon almost full, and Michieda's slender fingers delicately intertwining with his own ones.

"Me too," he replies, smiling feebly.

"And, who knows? Maybe... maybe next time we'll stop by here..." Michieda shyly teases.

"Eh?"

He watches the boy with amazed, widened eyes as the latter uses three of his fingers to delicately mimic a bamboo matcha whisk and then his index finger traces a vertical swirl in the air, as if conjuring a tiny spiral of whipped cream out of nowhere.

Signs that tell so much it's frankly impossible for him to name all the feelings frantically overlapping into him after witnessing such a scene.

There's renewed and delicious expectation into Michieda's eyes, when he finally tears his gaze off his hand and gazes right into him.

He swallows down his own expectation while gesturing to Michieda a tender okay with his fingers, and a huge embarrassed smile that Michieda returns.

**

During the train ride together, they practice sign language like Michieda implicitly asked him for, their fingers warmly tangled together more often than not.

They end up laughing softly, whenever he revels in the moment to gently fix Michieda's intense facial expressions with the tip of his own fingers, silently conveying to him how much more meaningful those words spelled with fingers become, simply like that.

Michieda looks smug and concentrated, his gaze intense and proud. It's no wonder he's a skilled actor, it's no less a wonder that he himself has fallen for his determination also, back then.

What leaves him constantly baffled, though, it's the way Michieda Shunsuke seems to always naturally fill the blank spaces he didn't even know he did leave open, making him feel complete and fulfilled, even when it simply comes to look at each other's eyes and find a whole world beyond, without any unnecessary word.

Michieda completes his taks of conjuring another brand new sign into the air, and proudly looks up at him.

There's something, stirring deep into his irises. A wave of ardour and feelings, of esteem and gratitude, and a torrent of pure, unconditional affection.

Something incredible, that he does not-so-incredibly reciprocate.

He tentatively shows Michieda another sign, a bit shyly.

He receives back a gleam of joy, and he bites his own lips in heartfelt emotion.

Once in Tokyo, he might try taking his hand to silently ask him to maybe stop by at Moko-chan's place.

There's really no need for words, after all.
