[FM] Dear First True Love....

Write a letter to your first true love.

Dear She-Ra "The Princess of Power",

Maybe you don't really remember me, but I remember you. With your easily combed hair, despite the too tiny to hold comb that you were sold with, and the red shiny cape that never really seemed to fit you like a cape... I remember you. I always will.

We first met after school one day. I had an unusual habit of turning on the television as loud as possible to drown out the sounds of my mother trying not to burn dinner, and you were there for me like a ray of sunshine... in bright rainbow colors. You ran around in what I could only consider bright red leotards with a belt and a talking horse. You had a secret life that only those closest to you could understand, or be trusted with... and you trusted me with those secrets She-Ra. I knew that you were truly Princess Adora, and that you had been kidnapped when you were just a baby from your home on Eternia. I know that the King and Queen worried about you until your twin brother Prince Adam... who I am pretty sure was light in the fur boots, came to Etheria and told you of your destiny.

I admit, our love was foolish. You had so many things to look out for, and you didn't have time for me. But I still felt like you tried. Bow was always fighting for your affection, and yet you remained true to the love I had for you. You kept our love a secret deep within the Whispering Woods, among the green paintbrush like trees and I loved you She-Ra. I even loved who you really were... a little girl lost from her home just trying to make a difference in a world of cruelty.

Your merchandise called to me, even though you were taller than all of my He-Man figures, and far too tall for GI Joe. I took this as a sign that we were fated for each other in some other way. Too short for Ken, too tall for any of the random YO! Joe soldiers... but you still kept up that holographic stickered mask... just for me.

I know you didn't expect to hear from me... I did leave you suddenly one day. However I saw that you were allowing something into your life that I couldn't stand for.

Lookee.

He was annoying my dearest Princess Adora... annoying and blue. He looked like a Rainbow Brite Sprite rip-off and I was not a Rainbow Brite man back then. He would hide in the woods, watching everything that happened to you without lending a hand. Never did he pop from his hiding spot to tell you where the Horde had hidden away Glimmer... not once did he offer his hand in battle when Mermista was lost in the dark waters... he was useless and he teased us all. Taunting us at the end of our time together wondering if I had pried my eyes from you... the main attraction of the show to find his annoying furry gnome like presence.

I'm sorry I was not a stronger man back then, to know that Lookee was just a ploy to distract from our love even more. You never wrote me though, and after time I put away your figures. Eventually they were given to a niece... or Dawn... maybe the garage sale, never the less I loved you and I thought that you should know.

A few years ago I saw you once again in San Diego as a limited edition run from Mattel. I was tempted and I did pick you up... but you are still mint in box She-Ra, and I fear that it will always remain that way. I have all of our memories though, now captured on DVD... even the ones that drove us apart... the episodes with Lookee in them.

She-Ra, you were my first true love... and I know that no one will ever wear a red shiny cape, gold headgear and white bodice like you did.

For the Honor of Grayskull...
