What would you do?

Here is my situation and I'm looking for advice:

The radiator in my car just died. It has a big hole in it and it's not patch-able. It needs to be replaced, along with one other part. It's $300 just for one of the parts and none of the labor. And that's just the most necessary repair. It also needs one strut ($150) and an a/c recharge ($100). Who knows what will break after that? I've already put $1300 into this car in the last year and I'm really not willing to spend any more.

Here is what I can do:

(A) My mechanic has a car for sale that is similar to mine, but one year newer and 93,000 miles to my 136,000. It needs a rear strut and four tires that he can take from my current car and put on that car. This will cost me $600 and we'll junk my car. My mechanic is one of the best and I fully trust him.

The problem with this is my "Oh shit" fund has about $1000 in it and I'm going to need that when both my jobs are closed for 11 days. As of today I have one month til we close.

(B) Spend the summer with my car, using it for short distances only, and save my pennies and see what I can buy at the end of the summer. The problem with this is that my car likes to run really hot in traffic, which is all Salem is in the summer and every time my car gets hot it damages the engine.

(C) Cry like a little girl with a skinned knee and whine.

I think option A is my best choice, but I'm not sure yet.

The problem with all of these is that unless Salem State decides to give me some kickass financial aid, I can't go back to school and buy a car.

So kids, what would you do?
