Kristin and I had an interesting conversation tonight. It was about the current music climate when it comes to sincerity and emotion in music. It started with a little "game" I play with people, a sort of "Name That Tune" deal where I type lyrics and people guess. I know, we all have done it.

Anyway, so I was typing the lyrics to Stairway to Heaven, when the question rose in my mind that lyrics and music of songs are no longer of such symbolic caliber as those of "classic" bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc. Kristin deduced that it was for money, which is probably true, and I have deduced that it could be out of sexual aspirations as well. It makes me sad.

Any thoughts?
