[The comm clicks on to the sound of footsteps on an empty corridor. It's some crazy hour of the night and Cliff's been wandering the halls, trying to get signal on his own personal comm and waiting for the desire to sleep to kick in. He might be a little tired, almost, but now a new problem has arrived.]
Hey, uh. Anyone awake?
Where's the best place

*And its where Marco is right now!*
Sergei's is often staffed at night, too, but I don't know if anyone's there or not now.

[That buffet sounds pretty damn good. Cliff's on his way.]

*Marco hasn't hung out there long enough to see any crew members do anything to it, nor has he cared to try*

[Look up Marco! There's a tall blonde man stepping in through the doorway. He nods to Marco and gives a wave.]
Howdy.

He recognizes Cliff from the failed expedition to fill up the graves and nods.*
Hey
Reply
Coffee no good, huh?
[He smiles at that, grabs a plate and starts to load it up with whatever's in range. It's just a snack. Really.]
Reply
Nah. I still hope to sleep at some point. Even if I guess I'm eating breakfast...or something.
Reply
Yeah, same. Mind if I sit?
[It'd be kind of weird to be chatting from different tables.]
Reply
Sure, no problem. Cliff, right?

[Cliff grins, sits and commences casually devouring his midnight meal.]
You're ah... Marco?
[He hopes.]
Reply
Yep.

He nods to the drink and speaks mid mouthful.]
Rough night? Or just taking a break?

Marco drinks alone sometimes...this time he was on his way to bed but decided to get something to eat first. He shrugs*
Winding down, figured I'd eat before letting myself pass out.
Reply
Yeah, same with me. Couldn't sleep so I went for a walk and then got hungry.
[He shrugs, not really bothered with the extra stopover before he crashes.]
Say... you wouldn't know if anyone's tried to send a signal out, would you? Like... transmit further than the boat?
Reply
*He really doesn't know what Cliff's referring to, but his cellphone doesn't work and no one else has mentioned getting a signal out--nor had anything appeared following such*
We're trapped in every sense of the world. Sorry.
*He doesn't really sound very sorry, but he kind of is. In a 'it sucks and we all have to deal with it' sort of way.*

[He's trying to stay positive here. Cliff's gonna keep working on boosting a signal... or hell, creating a signal to broadcast.]
That's a pretty morbid way to put it. People come and go all the time. Who's to say they haven't worked out the secret to getting off this boat?
