Title: Snapshots
Ships: James/Georgie
Rating: PG13
Disclaimer: Do I really need to say that I'm not these people, I dont know these people, and everything within is a work of fiction? Didn't think so.
Summary: Fifty random moments that make up a beautiful life together
Authors Notes: Written for 1sentence where the aim of the game is to write one sentence for each theme.

New ship! New prompts!

Again, my most sincere apologies to grammar for the irrevocable abuse I have inflicted upon it.

There are a few sentences set during the Narnia filming days, a few set in Georgie’s early teens, and everything else is beginning from when Georgie is about 16. You’ll understand what I mean when you read it.

This was my hardest Snapshots to write, partly due to the cross-gen aspect and partly due to my RL issues. But they are done at last and I am very proud of the outcome. Enjoy!

Snapshots

01. Comfort
Georgie is obviously more distressed than she is letting on, so he puts an arm around her and she rests her head on his shoulder as he kisses the top of her head, wanting to give her any kind of comfort he can.

02. Kiss
He leans in to kiss her cheek but she moves slightly and he kisses the side of her mouth; he pulls back and they look at each other for a moment before she smiles and says goodbye and James stumbles back inside in a slight daze.

03. Soft
Her hair is soft as he twirls it around his finger as she lies beside him, and he smiles at her sleeping form, knowing he has never seen anything so beautiful.

04. Pain
There is a dull and constant ache in her back but when the pain travels to her abdomen, she wraps an arm around her swollen belly and shakes James awake, whispering, "Jamie, I think it's time."

05. Potatoes
He idly plays with the unappetising potato salad in front of him as he listens to Georgie, Anna, Will and Skander joke and laugh, and suddenly feeling bold, he flicks the salad on his fork at Georgie and after a short moment of shocked silence, the table erupts in a massive food fight.

06. Rain
It is raining the night of their first public appearance together since becoming a couple; the door to their car is opened and someone is holding an open umbrella for them; James takes a deep breath and Georgie grips his hand and whispers, “Here we go.”

07. Chocolate
Her birthday cake is chocolate mud and when she bites into a slice, icing gets caught on her lips, and James is more than happy to remove it for her.

08. Happiness
They elope, not wanting to make a public thing of what is a very intimate and sacred event, and as they exchange rings on a foreign beach to become Mr and Mrs McAvoy, James and Georgie know there is no greater happiness than this.

09. Telephone
His mobile is ringing inside his trailer and he grabs it just in time, breathing heavily into the handset as he catches his breath, and he hears her voice for the first time in years, saying she is in town and does he want to catch up, and he can’t help but grin.

10. Ears
James can't stop roaming his hands over her bare skin and even though he knows she is sated and sleepy from the evenings activities he leans in close and whispers in her ear, "Will you marry me, Georgie?"

11. Name
He smiles as he watches her walk away, and a voice inside his head, one that sounds suspiciously like Anne-Marie, asks, “How come Georgie is allowed to call you ‘Jamie’ when no one else is?”

12. Sensual
She is looking at him with defiant eyes and he steps forward, placing a soft kiss in the spot where her neck and shoulder meets, trailing soft kisses along her clavicle and up her neck, until she moans and says, “Okay, you win,” before he captures her mouth with his own.

13. Death
Georgie feels her innocence slipping away when she is with him; she swears more and thinks more and feels more, and she knows that it is James more than any other that is helping her become who she is meant to be.

14. Sex
She has missed him, filming on the other side of the world for two months, and when she comes back home her need for him is so great that they don’t even make it to the bedroom.

15. Touch
He reaches out and touches her cheek lightly, the pad of his thumb lightly tracing the arch of her cheek, and she forgets to breathe.

16. Weakness
She loves him, more than anyone in the whole world, but she hears what people say about them and, in a moment of weakness, wonders if they are right.

17. Tears
She didn’t know where else to go, she tells him through her tears, she didn’t want to see her sisters or any of her friends, he was the only one she could come to, and he smiles reassuringly at her, placing a hand on hers.

18. Speed
The door closes with a bang and she calls his name as she bounds down the hallway; she screams with delight when she sees him and jumps into his arms, screaming, "I got it, I got the part!"

19. Wind
Her hair flutters in the wind and he find himself mesmerised by how the chocolate strands dance on the breeze; he chuckles at himself, wondering when he got so poetic, then she smiles and he realises he got so poetic the moment she kissed him.

20. Freedom
He should be scared at this newfound freedom, the trauma of a messy divorce still lingering, but somewhere inside him James knows that this is meant to be and that there is something, someone, better just around the corner.

21. Life
They are introduced and he takes her hand, shaking it as they smile at each other, friends in an instant, not knowing that their lives have just changed forever.

22. Jealousy
He hates feeling like this, knowing he has nothing to worry about and that Georgie loves him, but that doesn’t mean he has to like the fact it’s her job to spend the day nearly naked with another man, one who is many years younger than he.

23. Hands
The first sign that her feelings for him have gone beyond platonic is when he touches her skin and that small contact gives her shivers; Georgie is pretty sure that friendship is supposed to be a shiverless territory.

24. Taste
He sees her casually apply some strawberry lip gloss and has to stop himself from staring, wanting nothing more than to taste the gloss for himself.

25. Devotion
James can hear the front door open from where he is lying on his bed, then footfalls in his direction, and then she appears in the doorway with concern screaming from her features, and he blurts out, “What are you doing here?” when she walks into the room and kisses his cheek hello and sits beside him on the bed, careful of his bandaged ankle, and she replies, “You’re my friend and you’re hurt, where else would I be?”

26. Forever
It should terrify her but it doesn’t; they kiss for the first time, suddenly and passionately, tongues thrusting and bodies pressing and hands everywhere and hearts beating wildly, and in that one moment she can feel forever stretching out before her.

27. Blood
The amount of blood both terrifies and nauseates him; he ignores the red and focuses on her sweaty face, comforting her as best he can as she makes the final push and delivers their daughter into the world.

28. Sickness
James get seasick crossing between the north and south islands so Georgie rubs his back in a soothing motion and through the thin material of his shirt he can feel her new ring and he starts to feel better.

29. Melody
It is a wonder, what they see on screen, and when Mr Tumnus plays a Narnian lullaby to Lucy, they both turn to each other and smile as they remember the noise that actually came out of the instrument when James played it and how Georgie couldn’t stop laughing at him.

30. Star
“You’re a star now,” he says as they slide into the booth, having met up in an out-of-the-way coffee shop, and he smiles at the young woman across from him, so similar yet so different from the girl he met all those years ago, and adds, “I’m so proud of you.”

31. Home
He is going home tomorrow and he goes to her trailer to say goodbye; she is having one of her lessons but the tutor excuses herself so James can say goodbye, and he hugs her tightly, kissing her head and reassuring her that he will see her soon, and he looks into her big, round eyes and can see his heartache reflected there.

32. Confusion
He doesn’t want to admit it; he wants to pretend that he is just being a protective friend, that he doesn’t hate her boyfriend because he wants her for himself, that his feelings for her aren’t so confusing and complicated and consuming.

33. Fear
He’s scared of hurting her, terrified that they will try this thing and fail, that he will cause her pain, that she will break his heart, but she looks at him and with bright eyes says, “I love you Jamie,” and looking into her eyes, he is suddenly certain they will make it.

34. Lightning/Thunder
Only a few candles and the occasional burst of lightning illuminates their bedroom as they take advantage of the blackout and lack of distractions.

35. Bonds
Georgie leans against the door, her eyes closed as her head swims with too much thought and feeling, knowing from the hour in his presence, their first meeting in years, that their bond is as strong as ever.

36. Market
Georgie smiles politely at the nervous guy in front of her and not wanting to let him suffer this embarrassment any longer, she holds up her left hand, displaying her ring, and thanks him for the invitation but says she is otherwise engaged.

37. Technology
It’s so hard, working on opposite sides of the globe, but phones and emails and net cameras make the separation bearable.

38. Gift
The news of James’ divorce reaches her in New Zealand, so she writes him a letter and sends him some of the local chocolate that he loved, and when he receives her care package, his face lights up for the first time in weeks.

39. Smile
She has never smiled so much in her life, though who could not smile and laugh at James in those green tights, and she wants to keep filming with him forever.

40. Innocence
He can't help but smile, a stupid grin that he can't wipe off his face, and when she asks what he is smiling about he replies with a simple, "Nothing," because he knows it’s easier to say that than trying to explain how happy she makes him.

41. Completion
It's their last scene together and when they look at each other with tears in their eyes and their hands joined, there is little acting required on their part.

42. Clouds
Bright clouds covered the sky as James and Georgie, in their matching parkas, escaped the watchful eye of all those on set and wandered off into the snow, throwing snowballs at each other and making a small snowman, their cheeks pink from the cold and their eyes bright from fun.

43. Sky
He is lounging on his chair, staring at the clear blue sky, and she thinks that no matter how beautiful the blue sky might be on this fine summer day, nothing could ever match the blue of his eyes.

44. Heaven
He wakes up in the morning, light streaming through the large windows and the sound of crashing waves a comforting background noise, and he snuggles closer to her, his arm across her stomach, and even in her sleep she cuddles up to him and he knows that this is heaven.

45. Hell
They scream and kick things, their voices are hoarse and throats sore, and she wonders if this is it for them as she rushes from the room in tears, her heart breaking at such a thought.

46. Sun
It’s early, the sun has not yet risen and he knows she will be asleep, but he has to see her, he needs to apologise and beg for forgiveness, he needs her, so he knocks on the door and is surprised at how quickly she answers it, and they just stand there in silence for a moment on either side of the threshold and before he can say anything she says, “I’m sorry too.”

47. Moon
She is exhausted, her head on his chest and her fingertips tracing light circles on his stomach, and glancing at the rising moon through the window, she marvels at how much things can change in twenty four hours, and when he kisses her head she grins, tilting her head up to see him and pressing her lips to his.

48. Waves
They embrace at the gate, whispering half completed sentences that the other understands completely, and with one final kiss Georgie picks up her bag and walks away, but before she gets on the plane she turns back and gives him a quick wave and shaky smile before disappearing from sight.

49. Hair
He sweeps her chocolate hair over her shoulder, placing a soft kiss to the back of her neck, grinning against her skin when she moans in delight.

50. Supernova
Their mouths are pressed together as they become one for the first time and Georgie can finally understand how people say they ‘saw stars’; she has her legs locked around James’ hips and he is moving inside her and in his crystal eyes she can see the heavens, she can see their future stretching out before her, and a tear runs down her temple as she is overwhelmed with the intensity of love between them.
