bohemian taxis and the left-turn lane...

yet another day winds down; my arrival at work was heralded by
the news that I'd be covering a charter trip for a driver who
is apparently afflicted by Montezuma's revenge (but this detail
is unconfirmed, and will hopefully remain that way).

so, playing dodgem and leapfrog down 23rd ave and Rainier was
par for the course - one side note: an attempt to think of an
animal in Nature's kingdom which compares to a school bus was
an exercise in futility; the only thought which resulted was
that the animal in question would be a result of a four-part
reproductive effort, from the combined efforts of a giraffe,
an elephant, a rhino, and mecha-godzilla... who would call the
tempo? quite the scary question.

anyway, the transport of 37 kids and 9 suffering chaperones
went without a hitch, glitch or twitch - my only moment of terror
was while crossing under 99, when I must have pancaked a plastic
bottle. There were no motorists nearby engaged in shouting, arm-
flailing, or active use of the lights and horns, so I continued
merrily on my way, said merriment aided and abetted by the song
'takin care of business' (always a good driving tune, o yes).

and, last order of business for today was dropping off the rent,
after a brief necessary stop at Taco Del Mar - it took less time
to eat the burrito than to order it. hmm ...
