Wow... how long has it been
I just jumped on and checked my live journal account and was surprised to see how much I have NOT posted lately. I have a Facebook account, and tend to follow most of the people there, but I find I don't really post much there either. I guess I'm more of a lurker... On here, there's only 5 people that I follow that post on a regular basis. Everyone else is a no post, apparently no-read either. *shrugs* Maybe it's time to downsize my blogging accounts....
In other news, back in June, I accepted a new position and am now in administration in a new school district. I'm overseeing part of the special education department. It's a good job, and I enjoy what I'm doing, but our dept. is grossly behind the times, and to that degree, we are always playing catch up. Rather than being proactive and getting stuff done when it needs to be done, they wait until last minute and then we are "forced" to do stuff, and it's rushed and hurried. Not the way I like to operate, but not much I can do about it at this point. My boss keeps saying, "Are you overwhelmed yet? Do you feel pressure?" I finally told her this week that I'm busy, but not overwhelmed. I stay organized and get my stuff done. My boss and the other supervisors are always surprised when I get stuff done quickly, but I've embraced the technology and can sit down and pull stuff out of a database quickly, when everyone else still prints off the entire database, reads through it looking for the data, then types it into a new database. They don't understand technology so it always takes them so much longer.
We had a great vacation in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. Got to see a lot of people, meet new friends, sight see, hang out, etc... had a GREAT time and found it so hard to leave.
Not much else is going on... Will try and post again in another year or so (haha), If LJ is still around...
