I FINALLY got a Poppy!

Its harder than heck to find anyone selling Poppies out here..I don't know why. In Ohio you couldn't walk down the street without at least ONE person selling paper poppies this time of year.

I was in the UPS store and a young man came up next to me and I noticed he had one on his lapel. I asked him where he got it and he said he brought it with him ( Read more... )

We have poppies coming out the ying yang here in Canada. (Not that I mind, of course!) Every place I go, there is a vet taking donations for them. If you want one, just holler and I can pop one in the mail to you. I have some kicking around.

I was having the same sulk, myself, today - the apparent inability to find paper poppies around here.

Of course, in the UK, I can't heave a brick without hitting a poppy seller in the week running up to Armistice/Veteran's Day, but around here? Meh.

I know, its crazy to not be able to find them here with all the military stuff that use to be here!

this is one plush poppy, its flocked velvet. It was so sweet of the guy to give it to me, restored my faith in humanity today!

I know, it so kind of him.

I do my best, to pay it forward constantly. So, when he offered, I gladly accepted his generosity knowing that I'm just part of a big circle giving.

I guess we just don't know how to celebrate with poppies! This is the first I heard of it and I have lived here all my life and didn't understand the reference! We have tons of military around here, you would have thought it would have been a huge deal! I live right next to a base, closed now, but man I have never seen it. Hanging head in shame and off to find a poppy!

That was a great story of kindness by the way!
