Nef has been telling me for years but I didn't believe her until now.

Rob just dropped my sewing machine and DESTROYED it-beyond fixable or at least I'm sure it would cost more to fix it than replace it.  blink   blink

so-do I kill first or cry????

Need to get the sales fairies to start sprinkling some dust on my website so Momma can get a new sewing ( Read more... )

moving, crap

what sort of machine do you need to get by in the meantime? I've got a couple of bare-bones ones, and I'm pretty certain at least one of them doesn't even need any tuning up/repair to work - but I'll warn you that it looks like a 1970s home machine, nothing fancy or too powerful.

oh thats sweet of ya! I'm gonna go over and just get another this weekend after I get done with the move. I won't be able to sew anything for the next week anyway.

I just had a Janome that wasn't too fancy either.. I'd LOVE to get one of those "hook up to your computer and embroider" machines but those cost more than a car!!!!

Yeah, embroidery machines are fab.

And if you run into a crunch, let me know. The machines are just gathering dust at my place as it is. :)

Don't kill. Don't cry. Kiss your husband---he just gave you the excuse to buy a new machine :)

yes it was!!! LOL

Rob was hurt more then me I think. It got broke on the last trip over to the new place he went by himself so I could continue packing. He said he was afraid to come home!

Not happy but right now I am just too overwhelmed with all my art stuff to get really upset.....

is Rob trying to make the piles of stuff to move smaller? Tell him that ain't gonna work if that's his evil plan :D

I loved Lisa's advice--give him a big ole smooch and thank him in advance for the super duper machine he's going to buy you to replace the one he busted.

wish I was there to help pack and move ya!!

Sewing machines are pretty hard to destroy. Parts are replaceable and a shop can give you an estimate.

normally yes, but this looks like it got run over by a car LOL It was dropped on concrete and didn't handle the fall well at all, poor little thing! I would take a pic, but it takes about 30 mins to upload with this dialup. and I think Rob just took it out to the dumpster to put it out of its misery hee hee

The case is busted and complete cracked apart, the reverse button is bent and upside the case and stuff is moving around. If it were just dinged up, I'd give it a try, but with the case broken, the reverse bent and broken and the other stuff-I think it would be cheaper to buy a new one....When my last one died from being used so much, the guy was told me it would be cheaper to just replace it. They are so cheap now, I don't need anything like a Bernina (although I'd love one!)
