Ah, some days are interesting, especially when Kim is involved, ha!
Yesterday Kim and I went and hung out with Stacy, Brandon, Steve and Scott and had fun. I got my birthday presents from Kim, which are awesome: $15 gift card for Border's and a game controller thingy that you plug into your TV and you can play any one of four Sonic games, including . . . wait for it . . . DR. ROBOTNIC'S MEAN BEAN MACHINE!!! Squee! I love that game, always have. I kick-ass at it, which could be why, haha.
While at Stacy's, I read the first 5 volumes of XXXHolic, which is an awesome manga. The art is phenomenal and the storyline is captivating. As long as no shonen-ai shows up, we'll be good, heh. Since that series is tied into Tsubasa, Kim let me borrow what she has of that series. Don't mind me if I become a bit obsessive about that series for a while.
Today Kim came over and fixed my DVD player! . . . sort of. After doing all she could, she had to come to the conclusion that we had thought of in the beginning: the drive is doomed. It went kablooey and didn't bother to let me know ahead of time. So we went out to Best Buy and got an external DVD drive - for almost half the price! It was $40 off, and I used the rest of the gift card Mom gave me, bringing the total (with tax) to $55. I was a happy girl when I came home and it worked perfectly =D Add to the fact that my computer can read the CDs of anime I burned using Roxio (which no longer occupies my computer. Hello Nero Essentials) and you have a rather content Susan . . .
. . . with that much at least. I also got some news today that was not very well received.
My cousin called, and he told me I have about 3 weeks to move out, but it could be shorter should the paperwork the people need to buy the house come in sooner than expected.
I think something in my head snapped when he told me.
On the bright side, apparently I had excellent timing, quitting NY&Co. when I did seeing as all my extra time now must be spent scurrying for a place to live =) Beautiful.
But for now, I shall bask in the glow of having a DVD drive that works, and a cool friend who can make me laugh even as I go insane. And with that, I bid thee adieu *bows*
