30 Day Meme: Day 1
So, because normally my LJ is nothing but me rant and/or ramble about random crap I thought I do the 30 Day Meme. And on the first day is a very hard question:
If you know me, you know that I listen to everything. Picking my favorite song isn't easy at all, so I thought I would pick a song from my major music genres. In a way I guess this is cheating, but it was the only way I could think of answering this question.
Country: I grew up listening to country music and Garth Brooks has been one of my most favorite country artists ever. I love all his songs, but Callin' Baton Rouge is one of my all time favorites. Can't tell you how many times me and my grandpa would sing this song when I was a kid and even know it makes me want to smile and sing.
Rock/Metal: I listen to a lot of this stuff, about a good half of my music can fall into this genre so picking the song came between not two but three songs. System of a Down's Sugar, Metallica's Creeping Death and Marilyn Manson's The Fight Song
Sugar has always been my favorite SOAD song. One of the guys that worked on the video actually later became an art and video teacher at my high school. Don't have much to say about Metallica, I miss how awesome they were. :| Marilyn Manson is kick ass and his show was one of the best I have ever been to. I love his music and love his way of thinking.
JRock: Oh Gackt, how I love you. My friend from Japan, Ay, was the one who got me into JRock. There's just something about his voice that's so damn awesome. Vanilla is just a great song to listen to and whenever I watch the video I can't help but laugh because he has Cloud hair in it.
Instrumental: Close Your Eyes: Buffy and Angel's Theme Dear god, I cannot tell you how many times I have cried to this piece of music. Becoming Part 2 always makes me cry, even to this day it's just another one of those 'NOT FAIR! D:' moments in BtVS. That show had some of the most amazing music ever. After Close Your Eyes, Sacrifice is my close second because just like Close Your Eyes, I want to cry when I hear it. That whole show just made me cry all the damn time.
