One of my fish died today, Goose. He'd been kind of sick for a while, so it wasn't really unexpected, but it's very upsetting. I played Big Eyed Fish for him as a funeral.
We're getting a UV lamp today in hopes of enhancing Mephistopheles' longevity. (Roby believes that the cause of Goose's demise was insufficient light.) We might purchase a companion for him as well, but he seems to be pretty torn up about Goose. He doesn't have anyone to swim with, and therefore doesn't really know what to do with himself.
I really prefer pets with lungs and legs; they are much better at making their concerns known.
