Chapter 10: Yama-chan's in danger!!!

Sunday…
Hey!Say!Jump had another successful concert so they celebrated by going to an amusement park. They invited Miki along but sadly, she had chores and homework to do yet again.
HSJ got back to the house at 8:00 to have their dinner…After that, the boys offered to help Miki with washing the dishes but she said that she can do it by herself.
By 10:00, they went to sleep, not bothering to change into their pajamas. But Miki was still up….
Meanwhile, upstairs, a certain guy was tossing and turning in his bed cause for some odd reason, he couldn’t get to sleep. In awhile, he was getting impatient so he got out of his bed to get a drink. He went downstairs, headed towards the kitchen, but on his way there, he passed by the living room and saw someone sitting on the floor doing something…
“Miki-chan? What’re you doing here? And why are still awake at a time like this?” He approached her and sat beside her. He laid his eyes on an illustration board that Miki was working with.
“Ryo-chan…” She gasped, then went back to work… “Well, as you can see, I’m in the middle of finishing my project. It’s due tomorrow so I have to do it tonight…”
“Sou ka…” Yama-chan watched as she continued doing her project.
Miki noticed that Yamada has been staring at her for awhile now so she decided to speak.
“Is there something on my face?”
“No, why?”
“You’ve been staring at me for awhile now…I thought there was something wrong with me…”
“Oh, Am I distracting you? Should I go?” He said and stood up.
“No wait!...I mean… I was just curious…That’s all…I don’t mind you being here...Don’t worry.” She smiled and that made him sit back down
They were in total silence…Yama-chan was getting tired of it and began to ask her.
“By the way, you had so much time right after dinner to do your project but instead, you just washed the dishes and folded the laundry…Why can’t you ask someone to do it for you? It’s just a simple chore. Anyone can do it.”
“ I just want to…That’s all…Oh! I’m out of glue!”
“And why didn’t you ask for some help from one of us? We’d be more than happy to help you…” His voice sounded very concerned.
“I just don’t want to be a bother to anyone. It’s gonna trouble you guys. Plus, I can do a simple chore. So don’t think too much about it.”
“Miki-chan, you’re not a bother to us at all…You’ve been taking care of us and the least we could do is help you…In fact, to prove it to you, I’ll go buy some glue at the convenience store for you…” Then he stood up and got his jacket from the coat room. Miki was surprised as soon as he got up and raced out of the room. She stopped him from going out by pulling his wrist.
“Ryosuke, Matte! It’s dangerous to go out at a time like this! There are many scoundrels out there!” She warned.
“I’ll be fine Miki-chan. Don’t worry about me…okay?” He smiled at her.
“You don’t have to go…It’s okay…”Her eyes softened, glistening with concern.
Yama-chan clearly saw how concerned Miki is for him. “But I want to…I promise that I’ll be back before you know it…Ja, Ittekimasu!” then he pulled his wrist and dashed out of the door before Miki could react.
“RYO-CHAN!!!” She called out to him but it was too late since he was nowhere to be found. “Mou, That guy can be uncontrollable sometimes…” She sighed and smiled to herself.
20 mins later, Yamada reached the convenience store and bought glue and some midnight snacks. He was on his way back home, but when he passed by a park. There, he found a girl about to be harassed by 3 college “drop-outs”. They surrounded her at the giant sakura tree.
Yama-chan began to approach them because he wanted to help her but he stopped and thought that its best to not meddle with it cause if he did, he might be the one who’ll be in trouble. He stopped at his spot and began to think.
“I shouldn’t be meddling with them. It’s none of my business anyway…I should go home now…But I can’t just leave that girl like that!...What if something happens to her?!...What if they rape her?!...” Yamada thought and started to panic…
He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a loud female scream. “Someone! Please Help!”
He had no choice but to save her.
Meanwhile, at the sakura tree…
“OY,OY, Little miss, Shut up!” The guy said sinisterly “Or else something might happen to you…”
“How’s about we crash into my place and have a little fun, huh?” They other guy smirked as he placed his hand on her thigh.
“Yamete Kudasai!” The girl shoved his hands away and tried to flee away but failed. One of the guys pulled her back and pinned her to the tree…
“Hey,hey,hey…Trying to get away from us, babe? You’re a feisty one…” guy3 spoke and moved his face closer to hers. “Let me give you your punishment for trying to escape…” He whispered.
The girl whimpered as she prayed for a miracle to happen…
The guys were about to “attack” her but someone throwed pebbles at their faces…
“Ouch! WHO THE DAMN HELL THREW THAT!?!?” The guy 2 yelled.
They all turned to face the direction of where the pebble-thrower was…It was none other than Yamada…
“Hey, kid! Why’d ya threw the pebbles at us huh?? You’ve got guts!” guy 3 grabbed him by his collar and slammed him hard on the tree…As Yamada moaned in pain, He whispered to the girl…
“Hide! It’s your chance! Go!”
“But what about you?”
“I’ll distract them…”
“But-“
“No buts just go!! Now!” He pushed her away from them and she ran to the nearest tree and hid. Guy1 tried to chase her but he was kicked in the lower region by Yamada.
“What the heck! Hey, you damn kid! How dare you do that to him huh?? Let’s see how you like it!” The guy’s comrade punched him down the stomach several times while the 2 guys punched his face…Yamada could do nothing but groan in pain…Blood was coming out of his mouth.
“This is what you get for hitting us and let our victim get away. Let’s finish this kid guys…” guy 1 said.
The 3 beat him up for a long time. Yamada was helpless and beginning to feel so weak. The girl watched in horror as she witnessed the unbearable scene.
Back at the house…
Miki was getting worried about him. An hour passed and Yamada hasn’t come back yet, plus it began to rain.
“It’s been an hour and he hasn’t come back yet…The store’s not that far. He should be here 40 mins ago…Where is he?...Plus its raining cats and dogs tonight and he didn’t even bring an umbrella. I hope he’s okay…” She prayed for his safety.
Minutes passed he…he didn’t come home…She couldn’t control herself anymore…
“I just can’t sit here…I have to find him…” Miki got up and got an umbrella from the storage room and ran outside…
“Ryosuke!! Where are you?? Ryosuke!!” She shouted to no one while running everywhere…
She reached the convenience store and asked the clerk for some information…
“Ano sumimasen kedo, have you seen a boy about my age wearing a brown jacket?” She asked breathlessly. The clerk thought for awhile and said
“Actually, I did. But he left almost an hour ago…”
“Sou desu ka… Arigato Gozaimasu! Ja ittekimasu!” She bowed down before leaving…
“Kiotsukete na!”
“Where is he? I’m getting worried…”
She ran around the neighborhood and kept calling his name. Alas, she didn’t find him….It was getting cold and the rain was getting stronger…She was about to give up and thought that he might’ve gone home by now, but when she passed by the park nearby, She noticed that there were silhouettes of people near the giant sakura tree… She stopped dead tracks and got closer since she was very curious. When she finally got to see the faces of the silhouettes, there were 3 random guys beating 1 other guy that Miki can’t make out his face.
She got more closer and saw a great view of the guy’s face. No words came from her mouth but one
“Ryosuke!!!” She gasped “Oh no! What do I do? I need to help him!” She panicked
She looked at her surroundings and frisked her pockets for anything useful. Then she got hold of something…She lifted it and saw a whistle. (A/n: What’s a whistle doing in there XD..And lets all imagine that she was holding a glowy stick. XD)
She thought of an idea…She took a few steps backward and blowed the whistle many times while waving the glowy stick in circular motion.
Meanwhile the 3 guys heard the sound so they stopped punching Yama-chan. They saw the yellow light coming from the glowy stick. They could see a silhouette of a person(A/n: Remember, it was raining)
“What the heck is that thing?!?” guy 2 said…
“Wait a sec, the girl that “this” brat helped to escape might’ve called for some help” guy 3 said
“The whistling, the light,..I-it’s a cop!!! Run for it!!!” Then the guys dashed away, out of sight.
Miki felt proud of herself at the moment…Then she immediately went back to the real world. Miki’s attention was focused on Yamada as she approached him. Then she saw that Yamada was about to collapse to the ground so she hurried to him, completely forgetting about the umbrella that she was using to shield herself from the rain, she dropped it and was able to catch him…
“Ryosuke!!! Ryosuke!!!” She shaked him
“M-miki-chan…” He barely spoke
“Hang in there!!”
“Wh-why are y-you h-here??” He shivered as he asked.
“I was looking for you…” She smiled at him and caressed his cheek. “ I was worried about you…”
“M-miki-chan…” He smiled back, and before he knew it, he passed out.
Her eyes widened as saucers and she burst into tears
“Ryosuke?!? Wake up!! Please!!” She cried
He shook him but he didn’t budge
“Ryosuke!! I beg you!! Wake up!” Miki begged “ I have to do something! I just gotta!”
Miki took his left arm and hung it over her shoulder. She dragged him slowly and carefully. She called a taxi and the driver offered to help her carry Yamada inside. Once they were inside.
“Onegai, take us to this address! And hurry!” She gave the address to the driver and he stepped on the gas.
While inside the taxi…
Miki continued crying softly while caressing and wiping Yama-chan’s wet cheeks.
“Hontou ni gomen nr…It was all my fault…” She whispered and hugged the sleeping lad lying on her lap.
They arrived at the house shortly…Miki carried him to her room instead of his own because the first aid kit is located in her room…
She laid him gently on her bed. Before tending to him, Miki quickly took 2 towels, and dried herself up. Next, she quickly changed her clothes, got a bowl of lukewarm water and a damp cloth, and sat beside him…
Miki took off his shirt and used the towel to dry him…While doing that she noticed that he was shivering… “He must be cold…” She thought. She stood up and walked towards the heater and turned it to the right temperature. Then she went back to Yamada.
After that, she used the piece of cloth, rinsed it with the water and wiped the dried blood off his bruised face gently. Then, she used some disinfectants on each of the wounds on his face…And yet again, while doing that, she just found out that droplets of water were starting to fall from her eyes, landing on Yamachan’s face. She sniffed and wiped off her tears but it just won’t stop falling. She kept on thinking that it was her fault that it happened. She thought that it would be better if she wasn’t here in the first place. She knew that she was a bother to them.
“I’m sorry Ryosuke…I should’ve stopped you…” She said to him as her hot tears dropped on his sleeping face…
Just then, she remembered what Yamada said to her…
“Now you’re just being stubborn…Don’t put all the blame to yourself…”
With that thought, she wiped off her tears which stopped immediately an kept treating him…
20 mins later…
She was finally finished, So she climbed on her bed, laid beside Yama-chan and covered themselves with a blanket.
“Oyasumi…Ryo-chan…” She kissed him gently on the cheek and dozed off…
In the middle of the night, Yamada stirred and slowly began to open his eyes. When it was wide and clear enough he gasped and sat up quickly that made his wounded body ache…
“Itai…Oww…Where am I? How did…How did I get here?” Yamada asked while scanning the place…Then, he noticed that his body was already treated “And how did I get treated like this?” He wondered. Just because he was a little noisy, the person beside him moaned. He gasped and turned around to see Miki sleeping calmly and softly on the bed.
“This must be her room…Miki…So you did this huh? Arigato…” He whispered to her… He then only realized that Miki was the one who rescued him…
“It was Miki…Miki-chan saved me…I owe her a lot…” He laid back down and faced her…Yama-chan stared at her calm, unconscious face and sighed in relief.
“I’m glad that you weren’t hurt by them.” He caressed her cheek and gently kissed her forehead.
Then, a few more moments of staring, he went back to sleep…
