My Christmas was wonderful - family, friends & food, all of the best.
I got all the suggestions I passed onto my Mother - she apparently passed a couple on to my sister - as well as other nice gifts from my brothers/sis-in-laws, friends and nephew.
They include: New home phone with multiple handsets - no more wondering when the charge will run out, or having to run out to the dining room to see if I even want to answer or not;
Shiny pink iPod - Music at work !; Crockpot - hot food when I get home; New lounging robe; new purse; additions to my Xmas dishes; this year's White House ornament; a hat, muffler, and glove set; treats; gift cards & cash; calendar; AND a nifty photo gift idea similar to something I had done years ago.
Back at Thanksgiving, I showed brother #3's wife a color polaroid from 1965 that showed my maternal grandpa on his John Deere farm tractor, parked next to a red station wagon that had a 11 month old me peeking out the window. The main attraction in the pic is, of course, my grandpa - there aren't too many pics like that of him and he passed away way back in 1971. Anyway, she asked to borrow it from me so she could have it copied and blown up, and she would have them framed and give them to all of us brothers and sisters for Xmas. She did an absolutely beautiful job, and even put stickers on the back that had my Mother's description of the scene printed on them. (years ago I gave everyone copies of my grandparents wedding pictures from 1914 and 1928, and another year, my parents' baby pics =)
Today, get to spend quality time with the friends !
